There was no gag order and the last article I read said the fine still hadn't been imposed.
There is a lot of disagreement on that score...the last article I read said the gag order had indeed been imposed, despite many articles stating to the contrary. Depends upon what the meaning of "is" is, I suppose.... :)

Welcome to the forum and to Tennessee!

When/ where did that happen?
Oregon...bakers fined $135,000 and placed under a gag order by the Oregon Civil Rights Commission (IIRC)....

I believe he is considering a run for the presidency in 2020 and a cabinet post in 2016....

TFA is the only group with folks who actually walk the halls at Legislative Plaza. The NRA liason for TN can't find her a$$ with a road map...
That has been my impression also.

I saw in another story covering this EPA report that the report had also highlighted the effects of grilling and barbecues on the atmosphere.
IF anything were to happen, it would likely not be an outright ban on such activities. EPA regulations of particulate matter would instead be set low enough that the only way for communities to meet them would be to ban activities like fireworks and grilling. "Hey, we're not banning anything; that's your local government doing the banning."
Maybe I need to get my tinfoil hat out...but given what I've seen the last several years, I'm not willing to bet it will never happen....

Our compound is federal, inside Ft Campbell, KY. So it was either Ft Campbell, or our Regimental Cdr.
Ah, I see. Also, to correct my previous post, the flags will fly at half-staff in Tennessee until Friday at sundown for the five servicemen. I thought the order had begun on last Friday, but new information stated it began today.
-
I don't know who ordered it but it was at half staff on our compound on Friday when I left.
Governor Haslam ordered it for Tennessee...through Thursday at sundown, IIRC. Friday was the first day of five; one day for each of the servicemen who lost their lives.

We are told do not judge all muslims based on the acts of the few. Why are gun owners not afforded the same courtesy...we are certainly judged based on the acts of the few deranged and criminal.
Well, there you go again...making sense and all.
Very frustrating, and very true.

Heard the first call for gun control this morning on CNN. They thought we needed more stringent gun control in order to keep home grown terrorists from obtaining deadly assault weapons.
I'm surprised it took that long.... :wall:

Take a look at Metalife to see if they might help:

They list bluing among their options, but they are best known for their hard chromium finishes.

If he was stark naked and dripping wet, where did he conceal the two .380s?
As I understand it, she had managed to slip one into her purse, then handed the purse to her husband with the comment, "I believe we have something in here we can give him," or words to that effect.

From ou812: The bad guy was still on parole from Memphis.
Link to an NBC story: http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/robber-shot-dead-ex-cnn-reporter-identified-n386231
Sorry, ou812, for some reason the "Quote" feature didn't work properly for me.

I would happily buy any one of them a one way ticket today to any foreign country of their choosing. The only stipulation I would require is that they leave for two years, and at the end of that time should they want to repatriate, they repay me 150% of the original ticket price.
Some of them are willing to go only because the job opportunities may be better there than here in the states. My oldest son is working on his Ph.D. in math (paid for everything himself through scholarships starting freshman year of college), and he may look to Germany for a job in biomath after he graduates. What concerns me is, is this the beginning of a brain-drain from the United States, a reversal of what has been going on for a half-century or more?
I don't know, of course, but with some of the highest corporate taxation rates in the world and ever-increasing governmental regulation, are we seeing the death of the goose that laid the golden egg?

She's really taken a fall in her fortunes if she's staying at Motel 6.
Apparently, she and her husband had not intended to stay the night, but after going out for dinner with friends, they were too tired to get back on the road.

Congratulations to the proud parents for raising such a fine young man.
And convey my "Thank You" to him please.
Can't say it any better...outstanding!

Outstanding! Welcome to Tennessee!

If there can be solid Republican majorities in the House and Senate, I'm actually not too worried about there being in Dem in the White House (even thought the Dem is going to be Hillary).
I wish I shared your confidence in the current Republican majorities in the House and Senate, given who they have confirmed lately with regard to presidential nominees.
I hope you are correct, but "only a pessimist is capable of being truly pleasantly surprised."

Saddened to hear of this. May he rest in peace; and may you, his family, and his friends find comfort and strength during this time of sadness.

If I am not mistaken this issue was taken up in the SCOTUS a few years back and it was determined by the Court that the 2Nd Amendment will stand as written and will not be infringed upon. They also stated that they will not now of in the future hear any more cases pertaining to the 2nd Amendment period. So they can say all they want about taking away the guns but the SCOTUS says no so I just don't see it happening in our lifetime..............jmho
Unfortunately, the two major decisions on the Second Amendment (Heller and McDonald) were 5-4, and could easily be "revisited" whenever four of the justices want to grant a rehearing. Any sentiment on the court not to revisit any topic can change with each new justice appointment. It took Plessy almost sixty years to be reversed, but it was reversed. I hope you are right, but after today, I am certain of nothing.... :tinfoil:

The new policy has already had the predictable results: http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/nyc-crime/rifle-wielding-uber-fare-robs-driver-queens-article-1.2270631
I'm glad the driver wasn't hurt; the next one may not be so fortunate....

Why doesn't the AMA give the number of injuries and deaths due to cell phone use while driving? I'd guess the number of people injured while having cell phones stolen would be high as well. The AMA is able to bury their mistakes.
A physician hires a laborer to clean his front yard during the day. When he returns from his shift, the laborer says he is done and asks for his pay, The physician looks at the results of the clean-up and says, "There is still dirt on the sidewalk and gravel all over the paved driveway. In my estimation, it's a poor job." The laborer retorts, "Well, doc, there's many a poor job of yours covered with dirt and gravel too." The physician paid up.
I apologize for the off-topic response, but I couldn't resist....

It was 300 job openings before they were moving the entire operation. I would not be surprised to see that number grow quite a bit since they are moving the entire operation here instead of just part of it..............jmho
I believe I read that this would add an additional 400 jobs, although some will be taken by those who chose to come to Tennessee.
What's up with all the dragonflies?

I had a yellow jacket hit me in the lower eyelid several weeks ago. I found the nest very quickly...they did not survive for long.
I've seen a few more dragonflies around here than normal, but not that many more....
