Rockcastle 3-gun Range Officer training program.
Fri, January 29, 12pm – Sat, January 30, 4pm
The Rockcastle 3-gun Range Officer training program was developed in response to the increased demand for additional Range Officers. Those individuals trained through Rockcastle Range Officers will be instructed on the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to operating and maintaining a safe shooting environment. The Range Officer course will include both classroom instruction and fieldwork application. The training involved will cover the Range Officer's various roles and responsibilities, range standard operating procedures, range inspection and range rules, firearm stoppages and malfunctions. This training will utilize the ProAm rule set with additional discussion on other prevailing rule sets. Please bring something to take notes on and, if you are able and interested, please bring your 3 gun equipment along with 75 rounds of pistol, 75 rounds of birdshot, 6 rounds of slugs, and 75 rounds of rifle ammo. After the completion of classroom discussion a mini match will be held with the students taking turns running the match and working the match to apply the classroom knowledge.. Rockcastle will offer $29 hotel rooms Friday night for anyone participating in this event and have a reception that evening as a way to say thank you. This will only make Rockcastle Shooting Center, that much stronger. Cost will be $40 and include a Rockcastle Range Officer Polo and Hat. Sounds like a plan.... I will bring the steel and try to be there by 9a ... Do you have Clays?
At the moment the weather looks like it will a good day for it -
I have 10-12 Knock Off plates and a spinner you can use if you want to increase the round count.
I also have several clay holders if you have clays and want to throw a few in.

Sounds like a fun match.
What are the round counts looking like?
Specifically the Buck And Slug.
Also the max per stage I hope to talk my son into shooting the match and want to make sure he is setup to carry enough shells. He doesn't have the belt space most if us do...lol -

It was a good match, good weather and a good prize table.... Don and the EE staff did a great job... Glad I was able to make it down.

It won't be long now.... It's good to see Don stepping up to make a T3G monthly match happen at EE.... They really do have a nice facility and want to promote shooting sports.

So if these matches ever happen....
what "style"'of shooting are you planning on?.... What scoring method?
Is deciding on the format part of the hold up?
Outlaw Run and Gun is my preference... But not so easy to do inside...

It was a fun match and good excuse to get the SBR out and play.... Weather was perfect to top it off.

ok folks. If your planning to go, go ahead and preregister at the link above. Even if you no show, it's much easier on the stats guy to have you squaded than to put you in a squad the day of. Thanks
Yea...But that's why the stats guy gets paid the big bucks.... It's also better to keep him busy during the walk though and give him less time for gaming the stages.... Lol...:-)-

NEVER say Never...LOL.... They ALL Hiccup IF you shoot them enough... Some just do it more often than others. -
You're buying your 1st semi auto shotgun for 3 gun....which do you pick between the 2?
There are several good options for 3 Gun Shotguns these days but why not buy once and cry once... ? The 1301 gets good reviews from the guys I know that run them but I still believe the Benelli M2 is the top of the line.
Never heard of MVTactical and didn't find anything with a real quick google search..... -

I know you are try trying a new style pistol match which I think is great... Have you considered a 22lr Pistol / Rifle match or a Pistol / Shotgun match.?? I don't know what kind of demand there would be for either one but I can't shoot pistol ONLY.... There just isn't enough Junk to haul around....LOL... -
I'll be there.
I think I'm going to have to make it Sunday to avoid the Rain Check legalities and take advantage of the thanksgiving opportunity...-
