There is a Tandy store off Harding in Nashville close to Sams. I don't think it's been open too long.

Yep, one of my many other hobbies! LOL I've raced just about everything since the late 80's. Finally reduced my collection to mainly carpet oval, REVO, 1/8 buggy and a slash for the kids to play with.

If you look at the lower right side you can see a dump truck. They wanted to block off the whole fence line but we didn't have enough equipment so it was spaced out. For whatever good that did??!!

Congrats! It's great to see future Devil Dogs with a plan. A travel tip for the island: Buy "skin so soft" and thin with alcohol in a small spray bottle(pocket size). It's a little greasy but it will drown the sand fleas. Otherwise, "Stand still and don't move, cause they have to eat too!" Oh, the memories!

I think they depart at 8 am, Tuesday morning at gate B6 if anyone is flying out. Also there is an "Armed Forces Day" May 19 11am-1pm at Charlie Daniels Park in Mt. Juliet.

It depends on what your plans are, back yard bashing or racing. With brushless motors and lipo batteries the run time advantage of nitro has been reduced. Nitro chassis are beefy and tend to have less breakage. I would choose something that you can get parts for locally, instead of having to depend on mail order. Nitro needs glo plugs and fuel. Electric once you buy everything there aren't too many trips to the store unless something breaks. I've raced the Traxxas revo and Kyosho 1/8 buggies in the past with little problems. As for electric I have tried them all, just stick with the top brands. Check out Thunder Raceway in Nashville, they have weekly racing in onroad, oval and dirt offroad. I agree with the other posts about the Slash, I got my daughter one and I haven't had to fix anything on it yet. If I can help just let me know. I'll link to some sites and shops I use.

Great Movie! I saw an advance screening and enjoyed it. Lot's of action, plus some of the firefights (the boat extraction I think) were shot on a live fire coarse.

Guys, with money being tight these days I know more people are keeping and repairing their cars. So, I wanted to share a local business that has helped me out this week. I bought a remanufactured engine Oct '09 and have had nothing but trouble with it. It never ran right and started to leak coolant into the exhaust. I replaced the head gasket this spring but the leak came back. I had another older motor I was going to swap it out with and I went to talk to Headworks to see it if it would be compatable and have them check them out. The heads wouldn't work, but they checked out the problem heads and found a crack that hadn't been found when I replaced the gasket. Glen helped me get a replacement head and matched it up with the other one. I don't know if anyone else has done any business with "Headworks of Nashville" but so far so good for me. I'm starting to put the truck back together and I'll let you know how it goes.
As for the remanufactued engine, I'll update on that after I get a response from them on this cracked head, with messed up valve seats!

I grew up in Blacksburg and still have family there. I've been checking the papers from there and still no id on the second "victim". I was told earlier today that they believed they had the shooter and he had taken his own life and did not make it off campus. But, more important keep the officer and his family in your prayers, all the LEOs that have been affected this week. Thank you to all who wear a badge!

I think the gates are cash only, I've never seen any one pay with a card. But once you get in there are ATMs around the grounds.

I'm a hobby shooter with a limited budget and I purchased a used Charles Daly 12 semi last fall and used it until last spring when I purchased a new Benelli Vinci. I have had good luck with both. The CD was around $200, the company has gone out of business but you can still find them. No problems with it. I purchased the Benelli and have been very happy with it. Very easy to clean and great to shoot (my wife has tried to claim it a few times). They are closer to $1200. I have seen alot of Remington 1100's used too. I hope that helps some.

For skeet, trap and sporting clays, Cedar City is close. It's a club, but open most weekends.
