  1. I have 3 with the R5 and do think they are more accurate , clean easier. I would spend the extra for the barrel or rifle to get the R5. Of course you must match the rifle with a good scope and mounts. Good mounts and good glass to round out the rig.

  2. I have filled out the money order tracking form. If it has not been cashed I can receive a replacement in 60 days. If it has been cashed I am SOL and can only turn to PO fraud investigative division but no money returned.

  3. I forgot to say he emailed me a copy of his Air Force ID.

Same Name I shipped to. But not him. So impersonating and officer.

Checked address and it was same although it was his Mother.

  4. It was a post on Gun owners club forum. search for 9mm colt commander. 750.00 they have actually reposted the ad!

Told to send 1/2 the money to a verified address.

Signed for by the name provided.

    No pistol delivered.

suspected something wrong and contacted Post office.

Post office said they could not do anything for 60 days

Told me the person had signed receipt.

I called house and he said he was not selling a pistol and why did I send him money.

A third person contacted him and said to forward the money to them.

The recepiant said he would mail the check back. That was a week ago.

I think he was part of it. But the trail leads directly to him.

I just need someone to run this down.

But local police says it does not meet their cryteria to investigate.

So that is why I asked who beside the PO and local PD is appropriate to ask.

Using a Postal Money order certainly did not give me the protection I thought it did.

  5. I was scammed in the purchase of a pistol. I used a postal money order accross state lines. Post office says not their problem. Local police says not their problem. My question is who is the appropriate group to investigate?

  6. I receintly found this 38 Super and was horrified to see that someone had engraved a name on the slide. But now after doing some research as to who this man was I am rather proud to own this pistol now.

He was a MD in the Nashville area and has a Public Helath Clinic named after him.

Evidentally he was an avid hunter and shooter.

  7. I talked to a guy yesterday that said he bough all they received in a new shipment to Walmart reciently and he paid $2,400.00 at the standard 8.97 per box.

He had stopped by the gun shop where I was hanging out and we were discussing the good ol' days when we could actually shoot some of the new guns we buy, and this guy said he needed a 9mm handgun because he scored at his local WM, It was north of Nashville.

Of course he offered some to the gunshop at a modest profit.

I think you would agree this is excessive.

  8. I applied for renewal in early January. Called this week , thought 2 months would be plenty of time to get a renewal back.

I do not know where my copy of the application is now.

The lady at the TDS told me that I would be ok as long as I have the receipt!!

    Oh no!

Be sure you file the application and receipt in a safe place!

  9. I have never considered the Maury county club expensive. The first year its about 100.00 after that I think its 75 per year.

If you are visiting the rifle or pistol there is no additional charge. If you shoot trap or skeet then there is a small charge for clay targets.

If the open on the weekend is a problem all range officers have a key and can go when it works for them, So donate 1 day month and go when you want.

  10. I was at the local gun shop today and the discussion of hunting and class 3 firearms came up. It is clearly written in the rules that machineguns are illegal for hunting and have been so for several years.

One that I was not aware of is that SBR are illegal also, The regs quote that since these are illegal then you can not hunt with one???

It does not mention silencers and everyones' opinion was there are no limitations on them except when used with the two classes mentioned.

My question is why would the authorities say that SBR (or shotguns) are illegal to own and so are illegal to use hunting?
