  1. hi, i usually post on the sigforum and i'm also an occasional watcher on the walther, ruger, smith, and cz forums as well. i've found a lot of very useful information on all of these and contribute responses when appropiate. i usually don't post unless i think it's constructive and/or worthwhile. i found this forum recently and so far find it very interesting and enjoy it. thanks to the mods for being here. regards, bob
  2. hi, i didn't feel that a gym bag was strong and secure enough. the tool bag worked pretty well for one gun and some gear. i finally ended up buying both sizes of the 'sig sauer' bags. they are 'top notch' quality and design and have seperate compartments for several guns and gear. --very happy with them ! although a bit pricey, if you're carrying a couple of 'grand' worth of guns, the extra cost isn't that much by comparison. just my $.02 worth. thanks,
  3. hi, leather like any hide or skin will dry out over time. the natural oils will dissipate and evaporate and they should be replenished from time to time to keep it supple. i use 'neatsfoot' oil to replenish the oils lost thru age. you can get it at tractor supply and similar hardware stores. it will soften it but will not relax it to the point that it looses its shape or form. this is also used to develop a good pocket in a ball glove. the only thing to be aware of is that it will tend to darken the color somewhat, but then i really like a tan holster that has been darkened to a rich cordovan color. i usually use a sponge type paint brush and coat both inside and outside and then wrap it in a clean rag that has some oil dampened on it as well. i leave it overnite and next day the oils have penetrated evenly. you can use this method several times to get the desired softness and coloring you'd like. give it a quick rub with a dry towel or rag and its ready to wear. works for me everytime especially rejuvinating something that's been lying around for a while and is dried out. good luck with it. thanks.
  4. hi, i had one on my kel-tec p11 which i recently sold. gave the gun a more comfortable and manageable feel especially with big hands on a small grip. i recently bought a cz 2075p rami in 9mm and i'm thinking of putting one on it as well.
  5. PRAYER WORKS ! BEST TO HER AND ALL OF YOUR FAMILY. BOB
  6. hi, i'll try not to get long winded here but ---if you haven't already, -- i suggest you get a cardio stress test. several years ago i developed symetrical and uniform pain in both knees, elbows, shoulders , wrists, etc: along with weakness and listlessness ----doctor treated me for arthritis and prescribed 'viox' -----wrong , wrong, wrong. anyhow, after a heart attack from blocked arteries and quintuple bypass surgery i have been fine for 6 years. run [slowly] don't walk to a cardio specialist and prove or eliminate this cause. could save your life ---i was lucky ---i survived. good luck and good health, bob
  7. hi all, just found this site over the holidays and have been watching for a little while when i get a chance. i'm usually hanging out at the sig forum or sometimes the S&W forum. i love the information that changes hands on these forums and the overall good will and cooperation among members. being a 'yankee' transplant and now a tennessee resident for the last 12 years brings me a little closer to the local scene. i' grew up with guns and enjoy having them around although i haven't done a lot of shooting recently. time to dust them off and get to it. i don't post a lot but enjoy the action. thanks for having me aboard, bob

    Made a trade today

hi, bought my first sig [a sigpro] about 2 years ago. i now have 4 of them in different models and calibers. they just exude quality , comfort and depndability the first time you pick one up. --almost indecent. good choice -- i don't think you'll be sorry. just my 2 cents good luck, bob
  9. hi, i'd have to concur with 'jaypee' ---go with oem or mec-gar only for carry purpose. that's not the time to scimp on a few bucks. pro mags are hit or miss[excuse the pun]. and would only suffice as range mags in my opinion. i'll agree, keep your carry mags for just that. good luck and happy shopping, bob
