Any words from the other ladies here to aid my wife in getting comfortable with her HCP and maybe ACTUALLY carrying at times or at least in her vehicle while commuting. I have been CC'ing for a while now on a daily basis and want to make sure she has the ability to protect herself should the need ever arise. She has no qualms about long guns at all, has her own shotgun and hunts from time to time with me. However she is a bit of a nervous Nellie when it comes to handguns. She is not a member on here but looks over my shoulder from time to time and I can get her to read your responses.
Thank You

I'm assuming he's talking about a bow with a string turning the sitck to create friction by "sawing" back and forth.

Gotta love my Ruger, Mark II.

I wouldn't keep feeding them. a wild cat is a killing, eating machine. Even most housecats are also if they haven't been de clawed and kept indoors there whole life. We have several running around here and they are fairing pretty dang good. One likes to hunt close to a neighbors bird feeder LOL a smart putty tat.

Cedar shavings ignite pretty easy on a fireboard and I use the term "easy" loosely. I remember doing this many times about 30 odd years ago on my trek to becoming an Eagle Scout.

broke mine out today after church, my 14 yr old wants to start bowhunting now also. he has killed a few deer and turkeys with a gun and thinks he's ready for the sticks n strings. i am super excited about that.

uhhh, yeah. What he said !I hope theres another one, I didnt even know about this one and sure hated missing it. I need to start watching the events and gatherings threads more often. -
I'll move next month if the ammo for the Ruger is free too.
OH, one of THOSE neighbors hahahahaha. we already have a neighborhood bum (me).

JUSTLUCK, move on out to God's country. I'd loan my Ruger to a neighbor.Deerbnb, I envy people like you. I use a public range in summer time. Now that I'm down to one handgun, about 100 rnds each trip. Used to have a MKIII as a second gun and would also shoot a couple hundred through it each trip. -
Are you kidding me? It would take a pitiful lack of judgment on the part of a LEO if he was somehow made aware that you were drinking and carrying and didn’t ask you to submit to a breath test. You now have a dilemma. Take a breath test that will be used against you on a carrying while intoxicated charge or refuse and lose your driver’s license on complied consent.
I just don’t believe a responsible person would be drinking while carrying. That includes going out of the restaurant and putting it on.
If you feel the need that strongly to protect yourself and your family with a gun; don’t drink. I don’t want anyone making life and death decisions that may impact me or my family while their mind is clouded with alcohol.
Maybe DaveTN didn't read the part where I said "max 2" away from home. I am not sure where you draw your info from but this middle aged 250 lb man is not exactly what I'd call impaired after consuming 2 drinks while eating. I certainly didn't mean to add any fuel to this(out of control at this point) fire. I will go quietly away now.

We use a hook about 6' long made out of an old box spring with a #16 nail welded and sharpened for a barb and a loop turned on the back end so you always know whick way the hook is pointing. I too have tried the Buffalo but most of our success has been on the Harpeth. You ought to see the look on the faces of the canoe renting public when you come busting up out of waist deep water with a 30 pound yellow cat in a bear hug hahahah. note a 30 pounder will yeild about 7 GALLONS of wonderful filets.

When I go to dinner with my family and/or friends I sometimes (maybe 1 out of 3 times) have an "adult beverage" (max of 2 away from home) if that is my plan I simply leave it in the car and reholster when leaving to go home or shopping whatever. I certainly do not have any "guilty" feelings that what I am doing is wrong and while I don't proclaim to have seen it all or know it all, my own senses have served me well this far. It would take a pitiful lack of judgement of an LEO to take exception with that. Call my crazy but I guess I give them more credit than that. but you folks have given me some things to think about (as usual).

I guess I'm spoiled. I shoot at my home anytime I want. So every so often as soon as I come home I unload my mags that have defensive ammo and put it the cheap stuff and walk out the back door. And alot when I have company or friends of my kids that don't come from gun owner households that want to shoot. So I usually keep some ammo on hand for about everything I own. I have a sweet Henry .22 survival rifle that my sons teenage buddies like to plink with on regular occasions good cheap fun. So to actually answer the question some days just a few mags from a couple of carry guns and some days a lot of powder smell in the air.

when you get around to ordering that "nice" one check out Adamsholsters.com he pruduces some beautiful exotics but the usual wait time is about 16 weeks

a draw is required at Cheatham. It is held the first Saturday in August so time is near. I'd be willin to give you the info and the "where to" for the draw if you'll PM me BritishShooter. There is also 21,800 acres of public deer hunting there. And while it's not as "prime" as some private lands once you purchase your permits you have just as much right as the next fellow to the best places you can find there. (it's not all bad, I live about 10 miles from there and it's only about 35 minutes from Vandy)

I went to a dove shoot once where the organizer had a hand thrower for Ritz crackers. It would sling those things far and fast. As if shooting doves is not a humbling enough experience.
Very Cool sling, could I use it on the #7 Tee at Montgomery Bell ?
