  1. Glock 19 or Glock 23 depending on your preference for 9mm or .40SW

The 26 / 27 give up a lot in terms of ergonomics and capacity for hardly any gain in concealability. The 17/22 give up a lot in terms of concealability for hardly any gain in ergonomics or capacity. Just my practical take on the matter.

I ditto what TGO David said. I love my 19. It's the perfect size for me whether I'm carrying or at the range.

  2. This question has probably been asked before, but does anyone know of an outdoor range within fifty miles of Jackson, TN? I just bought a new AR and am looking for a place to shoot it.

  3. I am now facing this dilemma. I purchased a handgun for my son who lives in Texas. Can I legally let him carry the gun back to Texas to his FFL dealer and let them transfer it, or do I have to be present and carry it to Texas myself? Is the best option to let my FFL dealer ship it to his FFL? We're trying to hold down the expenses, but certainly don't want to do anything illegal.

  4. I think I remember reading on another forum about a 642 that had a barrel that wasn't screwed in (or pressed in or however) straight and of course that would make a round go whichever way it was pointing. This is probably not what is wrong, but you could take a really close look.

  5. I know that you said that you want an inexpensive safe, but you could budget twice of what you want to spend to get a decent one. You may have to wait a little longer before you purchase one, but it would be worth it. Besides guns in my safe, we keep some emergency cash, insurance papers, family photos, income taxes, the wifes jewelery, birth certificates and other things that can't be replaced. Most of the more important papers are in a small fireproof safe inside the big safe. Think about it.

  6. Both will do fine for ya....the 23 has a few options by purchasing a few extra barells and mags of different calibers

Personally you might as well stick to a weapon in one caliber and practice with it, be it the 9mm or .40S&W.......you just need to choose the caliber you're comfortable with.

I struggled with this question before I finally decided on the 19. Less recoil and cheaper ammo is a couple of advantages. Either one is great.

  7. Easy answer....the conversion bbl is inexpensive...get a couple G26 mags and you're all set...2 in one....

This is why I chose the g19 over the 23. If you are going to shoot alot and have to convert a 40 to 9mm why not go with the 9mm to begin with. It will do everything that I want it to do. If you still want a 40 you can get it later. A person can't have too many Glocks.
