  1. I buy the yearly pass for Norris, never met no thugs there but the porta pottie is shot full of holes.the grand kids get to go with me for free & have to be listed on the form,if you have kids they can be on there also.Your wife will get a discount if she buys at the same time.I have met a lot of great folks there & if help or any thing else is needed folks always offer.

  2. Good luck picking a place, id stay at a few places for a few days & ck out each area really well, drive around have lunch at some local places & talk to folks, congrats for getting off the left coast & I'm sure you will find a spot here to suit you. Norris is a small spot with a outdoor gun range that is easy to get to for very little $, add in trout fishing on the clinch or fishing on Norris lake & several wma close by & its hard to beat.30 min or so to get to the oakridge gun club which has a 1000y range along with any other type that you might want to try, I hope your travels will be safe & fun ,mike

  3. In all honesty folks need to learn safety before they ever think about getting a carry permit,Gun safety cant be learned in 5-6 hrs,The 1 thing I found lacking was a understanding of the legal system & the need for some type of insurance for personal liability in case you had to use your weapon, myths about make sure their dead so they cant sue you wont work because everybody has family &will sue you just for spite & others will jump on the band wagon to get weapons taken away from us imo.become a lawyer & practice law & then start a coarse that lasts more than 1/2 day with some solid info & facts from previous  cases.Good luck & with some research it can be done to make the coarse interesting & informative to help folks out.Alot of folks have gotten into it for the $ for the most part, just touching the basics are all the law requires at this time

  4. I think we are in a ammo vacuum here in east Tennessee. I haven't seen ANY 22lr in any store in the last 5 months. Not a single box, bulk or otherwise. The last 22 I bought was 22 short I bought the first part of January. I normally shoot 2K+ a month and haven't shot that since December. Even considering building a 22 Jet just so I can use my 22 lr can. I have 22 lr but I will not fire another shot until I can buy more.

Now my local Walmart gets 22lr in a few times every week according to the workers. They said they get thousands of rounds each time but the same group of guys come in and buy all they can. Same thing for 223, 9mm and most other popular calibers.

same thing for the Clinton walmart

  5. If the owner of the property has told somebody to not come back & they do the police can arrest them, having to file a order of protection isnt needed in the short term & has never saved anybody ,sounds like a bad situation to be in & keep the police involved & informed.Prayers sent

  6. I pocket carry a LCP most of the time but will OC depending on what I am wearing,I have seen a knoxville city cop go ballistic because my brother was OC & a couple of other officers with him had to calm him down.If its legal go for it,I for 1 will not be browbeat for OC & its a personel choice just like what you want to wear or drive. Also pick your weapon based on what works for you JMO

  7. I bought 1 in 20g last fall before dove season opened,no problems so far,ck your ammo with the heavy piston first, heavy dove loads will cycle with the heavy piston,Id by another in 12g if I needed a good 12g,I got the synthetic stock but would like to have the wood stocks also, seen some pictures & the wood looks really good, down side is about $250 more from what i seen online last year, hope you have a lotta good times with it

  8. to make it simple pu some of the power belt bullets,no patch needed.start with 45g of powder then start working up,at some point accuracy will fall off,my old rifle was any thing above 80g.i wouldnt load over 100g .the heavier the bullet the less powder you will want to use to keep the pressure down.I killed my first deer with a muzzle loader just like that 1  :)  ,60g & a round ball did the button buck in at 50y back in the late 80's

  9. looks good,I've had several over the years & 0 problems,my brotherinlaw bought 1 in the mid 90's & the firing pin bent,I straightened it & retempered & its still shooting today.I own a 7000 that has the same action, wonder if that trigger group might work in it?

  10. It dosent suprise me,took almost 3 months to get mine,I keep calling & asking & they said it was being processed.Come to find out the scanner /computer had problems & my certifcate didnt get scanned & sent from the DOT office, took it back down there & they rescanned & sent, think i had a week or so left before I would have had to pay another $115.My bugging them is the only reason I found out I was 1 of the ones that had the same problem   :(   ,its kinda like going to mcdonalds drive thru, they dont care what you ordered you will get something in a bag when they have time, never mind that your the buyer & only want what you pay for in a timely manner lol

  11. read some crap the other day that stated they couldnt restart the war because the un wouldnt allow it,what a load of dung, they are a radical group that needs removed any way possible in order to stabilize that part of the world,60+ years of opressing those people is way too long IMO.
