  1. I stopped buying deodorant, dog food, and everything else at Walmart because they couldn't keep ammo in stock before this madness started let alone afterward.  I have taken my money elsewhere.  I have also started leaning on the manufacturers.  It has been over a year since this started and there is no excuse at this point for the manufacturers not investing the necessary capital to increase production.

  2. I'm not him but I was there like Wed and looked right at them and I sure thought those were $11.99 but there, although fuzzy when zoomed in, it looks like $12.99 to me.

Yeah I thought it was 13.99 but we all agree its in that neighborhood. Make me feel better about paying $52 for 100.
  3. Thanks for the update. But Gander Mt quit being a "deal" along time ago. They were great to buy hunting and reloading supplies from back in the 70's- 80's, worth the 150 mile round trip drive from northern Illinois to there store in Wisconsin. I wouldn't drive across town to buy from them these days. JMHO

Amen.....or even walk across the street.
  4. Midway sent me an alert that they have .40 Cal Critical Defense Ammo in - box of 20 for $19.99.  So I go to order and get the message can only order two boxes and shipping is still close to $19.   So there are two more boxes of this ammo back in their stockroom.  Buy 2 for the price of 3 I can pass on.

Did the same thing to me the other day whereby I was limited to one box of .40 plinking ammo and was hit with a $20 shipping charge.  I told them they could pound sand along with a few other things they could do with their ammo and their shipping.

  5. Shooters Depot has a nice, and new, indoor range.

Thanks for the advice.  I've checked with them and they are $25 for 1/2 hour.  Anyone have any other suggestions........someone that is reasonably priced?

  6. I've searched the forums and only found limited information so here goes.  Where in the Chattanooga area is good for pistol shooting?  Are there any indoor ranges that are not membership only?  Also post up any outdoor ranges.  I understand Prentice Cooper is still closed.  Thanks in advance for any advice.

  7. I did that a few weeks ago and 'scored' a few boxes.   I was pretty excited to see quite a bit of ammo at this Walmart; the Walmart girl was still putting stickers on the boxes.  It was 1pm so I was on my lunch break and wasn't carrying since I was at work  (Nolensville & Harding).

Right before I made my purchase, 2 shady looking guys were trying to buy some boxes of ammo too.  The cashier asked for their ID and they didn't want to show it, they looked upset and when I went to the line to pay, they started to ask me if I CAN BUY IT FOR THEM!  Well, I declined and they looked visibly upset.

While I was telling the lady what I wanted to buy, a group of 3 or 4 ghetto girls were looking at me very suspiciously ("why would he buy that much ammo" - I think they were thinking).  As I finished the transaction, another guy who just bought ammo but hung around the ammo area started making small talk.  I'm trying to not make any judgment calls but he had blood shot eyes and wasn't making a lot of sense.

And then He FOLLOWED me as I left, started to ask me what i gun I use to shot the ammo, etc.  I tried to make myself scarce but he kept right on me.  I finally 'pretended' I had a prescription to pick up and wasn't going to wait, he then left.  I counted to 10, and then made a run to my car (still aware of the 2 ghetto looking guys who wanted me to buy ammo for them).

As soon as I got into my car, I locked it and sped out.  Whew, I never had to work so hard for a few boxes of 9mm.

Sounds like some of that ammo might be necessary to survive your next trip to Walmart!!!
