  1. I don't know about an inside job, but when he got stopped in Texas for speeding, he had a gun on him. Seemed legal.

Not referring to the gun. The situation as a whole seems rather off. By inside job, I mean she may have been bought off to set everything in motion for domestic violence charge. that's why I was asking if that charge would make so it the person was unable to lawfully own a firearm.
  2. I joined the AR pistol club tonight after buying a Sig Sauer M400 AR pistol that came with the new Sig forearm stabilizing brace. The stabilizer is in essence just like a stock if put against shoulder and cheek. The barrel is 11.5 inches and 25.5 inches overall length without the stabilizer brace on, and 26.5 with the brace on. It also came with a foam tube cover when not using the brace.

I bought the second of two that Guns and Leather in Hendersonville had today. I believe the Greenbrier shop may still have one in stock. Been looking for awhile in gun shops for AR pistols with no success, but Sig will probably be supplying these AR pistols for gun shops now.

Any suggestions for optics that anyone is using on their AR pistols.

When are you going to get the stamp and put a suppressor on it?

  3. They responded to my pfd letter by phone first letting me know they had accepted. A few days later I got the original letter I had already received before I sent the pfd which stated what I owed except this time it had the contract from the gym so it was essentially a debt validation. It had not mention of whether they had accepted or denied my request. I called the agency and asked and she said that it was an automated response and that the pfd acceptance had been sent after that(never got it). So I should wait the remaining time from when I sent the pfd letter and then contact the credit bureau if I have nothing in writing?
  4. I feel your pain. When I was home from school a few summers my mother told me she saw a swarm of bees around the water main in the yard. Naturally I strolled out there with my wasp spray. Turns out they werent wasps or jackets, they were hornets and the spray didnt work. Ended up getting the exterminator out there in his suit. Painful experience. Glad your worked out haha
  5. Don't remember where I heard it but it could apply in this situation- Why is it that people getting loans is like a guy wanting to get laid. The first offer to come along that says yes gets taken.

The point is, shop around. The one bank you have an account at isn't the only bank that will give you a loan. (Although credit unions you do have to be a member)

All those inquries wont look good either will they?
  6. Wow I didnt think of a credit union. My score is around 640 with that open collection so having it removed would help me out with rates big time. I havent spoken with them in a few days now. Should I send a pfd letter once a month until they comply or just leave it until they reconsider? Iim not real sure what to say when they call at this point
  7. Well yes, you can sue for anything whether you say it or not. Never actually say that you wont pay, just tell them you will exercise every right you have under the "Fair Debt Collection Practices Act"...this will cost them more than one stamp. First step being a certified letter requesting "Debt Validation" and a no contact request if they refuse, they will be able to call you one more time but any further contact must be through mail. There, you already ate that 42 cents up when they have to send that. If they don't send that you can send a copy of your letter and a copy of the mailing certification to the debt reporting agencies to have it removed. If they do send it, your next move is a certified letter with an settlement offer. This can include your stipulation for a "Pay for Deletion". If they fail to respond again you can contact debt reporting agencies for dispute/removal. You just ate up another 42 cents if they want to keep it on the record at the reporting agency.
Anyway, on the note of being sued for a small amount: That is very unlikely. While they could sue and even get judgement for attorney fees, they would never recover enough for all the effort put into it.
Bottom line, if they wont do a PFD then just let it fall off. Use the extra time to get small loan, say a thousand or two to repay over the next year or so while you wait. This will add to your credit rating as an account in good standing. With it you could get you a toy of some type. :)

Ive already taken all the steps through the pay for deletion letter. A rep contacted me and said that they had agreed to the request and would be sending a signed letter as I had requested. A few days later she called again and said that they would not be able to send the letter through the mail, only through fax or email. Regarding a small loan, the bank told me I could not take out any kind of loan with an open collection(Region).

  8. I think his debt is still with the original place and hasn't been sold off.

However you are right that would cost them money and on the low amount probably not, but then again they always could.  Even if small claims maybe.

Yes it is. Its actually a very weird situation. The original creditor and the collection agency are one in the same. National Fitness is does billing for a large number of gyms. Of course, this makes it easy for them to put things into collections. Just transfer it over to the next department!
