  1. I was able to tell him to get some. And we do have one in 45 but he wanted some 380s and could not find any hi-points in 380 that would be to the store in time. So we have some great kahr and sig and ruger guns and then cobras. I like the ability to say "yes we have something in more then 22 in your price range". But I don't want to have the "it doesn't work" issue again.
  2. This being my first issue like this I did clean both guns with in an inch of there lives. And I showed her how to do a detailed break down and reassembly. And I think the time I spend bothered my boss a bit. But for a customer who will come back I would do it again. And she called me back later today to tell me how they worked and was super excited. So I know I did this one right. And detail stripping will become part of all of my sails to new owners. And cleaning kits. That is a simple up sale that will make a world of difference.

Thank you for the info. I am excited to add others to our life style and get them set up the right way.

  3. I work at a pawn shop here in Chattanooga. Last week I sold 2 brand new cobra 380 pistols. I know they are not great guns and not something of high quality but for a first gun and for trying to see if they liked shooting it is not bad for the price. When the people got to the range neither gun was working. One did not work at all and the other got off 3 rounds before it stopped firing. I found about this on Sunday night and told them to bring them back into the shop and I would see what we could do. I then started looking at the cobra 380 info on the net and found that these guns are shipped very dirty and need to be cleaned and oiled well before you try to shoot them. So I did this for them today to both guns. She then took them back to shooters depo and put about 50 rounds through each gun with no major issues and only 1 or 2 FTF issues on one gun.
My question is, what should I do when selling hand guns like this to new shooters? I really want them to feel confrtable with the guns we sell and I never want to sell a gun that does not work. I know that the cobra is not a tack driver or anything but for starter guns it was right where it needed to be. Can you tell me what else I need to tell the new shooters besides, to "clean the crap out of it", so this is not an issue again?
  4. No I have not. But I know I can hit eye ball size target under stress. So that is my aim with that gun. But if it comes out then the crap has already hit the fan and I am out of other options. But my point is I can shoot it well and spend the time to keep up on it. So yes it is a little hole but in the right spots even a little hole will mess up your day. And a 25 is reliable where in 22 I find duds all the time. So it goes bang and where I want it at good range so I don't feel under-gunned if that is all I can have. But I also like to have my beretta 92 on me as well.
  5. I work in a pawn shop and yes you hear this all the time. What I think is funny is a have a 25 in my pocket that I know will go bang every time and will keep them all in the head at 20' so yah you keep your 45 and I will have a 25 in my pocket and a 9 on hip at all time and feel safe around anyone.

  6. Thank you all. I think I am going to keep on the path I was on of saving up and getting a new pocket pistol to replace the raven. Either in 9mm if I can or at least a .38 that will cover my butt. That also means I get to make my self a new holster. I am excited about that. And now I will also see if I can make one like the super tuck that you guys told me about. Thank you
  7. I have an attachment to the 92. My wife will not let me trade HER p22 and the raven is not worth the trading. My goal is to get one of the little wonder 9s soon and I am saving the money for that now. But with our budget and that I just switched company's at my job (no longer a temp but full time now). It will be a wile before I have the money.
My real question is "dos anyone think it would be worth it to try to carry the P22 as well as the raven? And if so what are the best options besides belt carry?"
  8. The printing issue is not just it showing but where I work we bump into each other a lot and you use the belt line to tell others where you are when moving around each other. So it gets felt. And by some coworkers is it no issue but there are a few coworkers who are anti gun and I don't want it to be an issue for them. I did get a belly band from a friend and put the 92 in it and pull it way up under my arm pit. It did well for hiding it but the sweat was rusting It out and it kept shifting forward and becoming obvious that I had something there. That and I kept hitting people with my arm when moving around them.
  9. In your opinion should I see if I can find a way to get the P22 on me during the day as well as the 25 in my pocket? Not sure how I could do it because everything I have tried on the hip/belt line prints too much. But I can see about an ankle holster or something else. Just at a loss so asking to use more brain power then I have.
  10. I work in a services job were I run the register a lot. I am limited on funds so I have to carry what I have. Right now that is a Beretta 92. A Walther P22 and a Raven arms MP25.
I usually carry the 25 in a pocket holster with an extra mag.
My question is any one have a better idea on how to carry one of the other guns as well? We are required to where a uniform and keep the shirt tucked in and I have used a belly band for the 92 but it just too big and prints all over the place.
    Any ideas would be welcome.
  11. I am trying to make a bulpup stock for my marlin m-60. I know to keep my self out of trouble to keep it over 26". Does any one have any suggestions on how to get the trigger to work, and any other info on making a stock please let me know
  12. For a good black I found that the Eco-Flo All-In-One works great. You do have to put 3 or 4 coats on it and keep each one thin, but there is very little buffing and unless it is a very hard used item it stays that color when you are done. and it is cheap as well.

By the way great looking first try holster. I need to try the boiling trick on my next one.
  13. I just made a new holster for my Beretta 92.

this is my first one to have a fringe of some nice Reptile looking leather I got out of the scrap bin.

Wanted to share it with everyone and see what you think.

Sorry my link is not working. let me figure how to get a picture into here.

    Here try this

  14. Dolomite

Thank you. I think I know what my next gun is. For what I want and my budget this sounds perfect. And I can take my time to get the top fold stock I want (yes I was a fan of the shot gun in the first jurassic park movie). And It will still be less then the 870 when I am all done.

  15. Has any one seen the New England Firams 12 gauge that Walmart is selling for 180 or so? Is it any good. Is it this "H&R partner" I have heard about that is interchangeable with the 870? If so can you give me any opinions on it and if it is worth it for a home and range gun and maybe for a few crows if they are dumb enough to get near me? I know it is heavier then the same 18.5 in 870 that they had. But the controls are in the right place and I don't plan on this being a big field gun. So the extra weight is not an issue. But I would like to add a mag extension to it so I can have all the rounds in the gun that will fit.

    What are your thoughts please?
