Has anyone tried any of this ammo? Ive been wanting to stock up on some plinking ammo so I can go shooting without breaking the bank. I have ran tula thru my ar without a hiccup but 223 has been sold out and im not paying crazy prices ppl are asking like .75 to 1.00 a round for steel case. I found herters for a decent price but I wanted to check in with you all before I make a bulk buy on it. I will be getting 223 and 308.

So basically as long as a clean up after every range trip I should be good to go? I hope cuz 308 is too dang expensive to shoot my good stuff for target practice lol.

Do it, if any of the guys I know see you I'm sure they'll speak up.
Go to the guy in the far back right corner. Big red "Reloading Supplies" that's David, goo place to start

Well I didn't make it to the last one but looks like I might spend my "black Friday" money in Knoxville this weekend. Ill be sure to think of some kind of way to identify myself as a "TGO'er" before Friday. -
Anyone have issues when shooting this ammo? Looking for some cheap plinking ammo to try out my new rifle but have heard stories of cases getting stuck in the chamber, not particularly wolf, just cheaper ammo. Thanks in advance.
-
Is there any use for stripped links or should I just junk them?
-
Would it be bad if we developed a way to identify each other such as a name tag with TGO on it without our names? Just trying to meet some people from here and I'm sure the local shows are crawling with us but we really have no way to determine who is who in a crowded show.

Definitely the Walter P99 one of the main reasons I bought it.

I plan on attending also. Does anyone know if there ere any of the dealers that trade for silver? I have some extra silver eagle dollars I want to take and trade for some ammo and a scope for my new rifle, but don't wanna take all of them if no one there barters with them lol.

Anyone know where to get the best price on these or a quality alternative?
-
Well I put my lr308 in layaway today. Su're I had the cash but I won't feel as bad making a couple of smaller payments. Bad part is the cheapest one in the kingsport show was 200 more not including taxes and bg check. Looks like old wally pulled thru on this one!!!

I have thought about the ammo but somewhat I understand 7.62 NATO will work in these and is cheaper right? I have an ar 15 but I was looking into something that hits harder. I also looked at a cetme at a local shop too but they seem to have a lot of mixed reviews
-
Does anyone have experience with these guns? I have been looking for something with a ill more punch than 5.56 and ran across one of these at a local Wal-Mart a while back.
-
Is the Grey show a decent size show? I've been to all the other local shows except this one. Can anyone tell me the address?
-
I have considered reloading but it seems like it may be a little complex and time consuming. I have shot steel ammo from wally world and it is very inconsistent.
-
I am looking to buy some ammo in bulk. Do you all have suggestions on where to get it. Should I get 223 or 5.56 I have a s&w mp15 sport. Just looking mainly for plinking ammo for the weekend get togethers. I wont be hunting with it or anything.

Free app you can turn someones picture into a zombie you touch them and they try to eat you. My friend showed it to me I thought it was pretty funny.

Never mind guys im not going into it.I've researched and found out its chambered for 7.62 cetme which is lower pressure than 7.62 nato and the guy is telling me its good to shoot. 308 win. Im not trying it if he wants to blow it up he can I need my face and limbs in tact lol.
-
I was also told it was an ovideo arsenal gun which honestly I have no idea what that means.
-
Can anyone tell me about these guns? I know they are spanish but are they rare or collectible?
-
Yeah I think im going to look into expanding my colt collections also. Fine pieces of work.

Sweet going to call my buddy with the ffl now

Very informative. I hope to get one soon. I actually looked and thought about trying the dpms as a starter but now I may have to go hunt down a smith.

Stag is a better gun than DPMS. I have never heard of a problem or compalaint with a Stag. I am sure they are out there but not in the same percentage as DPMS.
If I were going to spend the $600 on a DPMS I would save and spend $650 on s S&W M&P Sport. You will get a gun that is leaps and bounds above DPMS. And other than the ejection port cover and forward assist it is much better than most guns costing hundreds more. I would pick a Sport over anything else in the under $1,100 category including Colt. The 5R rifling in the barrel makes for a better barrel than all but a few HIGH end guns. It is better than any conventionally rifled barrel. Google 5R rifling and see for yourself. The Melonite treatment of the barrel is better than any chrome lined and phosphate coated barrel. It is definitely more durable and more corrosion resistant. And finally, the 8 twist rate is perfect because it will shoot anything that can be fed from a magazine. 9 twist will not stabilize 80 grain bullets and 7 twist will blow 40 grain bullets apart with centrifugal force. The 8 twist barrel will fire both wieghts just fine as well as anything in between.
It is a much better gun than the cost implies. Find another AR with a 5R barrel, melonite treatment as well as a hardened bolt and price it. It will likely cost you twice what the Sport costs.
Dolomite
Dolomite,
Sounds like you live by the mp15 I sure wish I could find one. They sound great.
