  1. Tiny spring loaded parts rarely land on the work bench when launched into the atmosphere. That's been my experience anyway.

I launched the detent spring when I was installing the back plate on the receiver last weekend.  Luckily I was an aircraft mechanic and am skilled in finding dropped/lauched parts.  Actually, I am lucky that one of my 2 dogs didn't find it first and eat the damn thing

  2. What's wrong with that? There is very little that a generous helping of Worchestershire Sauce can't make better.

Oh, there's nothing wrong with it.  I grew up sopping up various juices and grease off my plate so it doesn't bother me at all.  My kids just gag when I eat it, and it being my job as their dad to harass them from time to time I feel it is my duty to fulfill my responsibilities as a good parent....

  3. doesn't look bad...my engraving looks similar, although I havent decided on whether i would shoot any krylon on my SBR once my stamp comes back so i don't know if i would be in the same boat as you in terms of the engraving being filled by the paint due to lack of depth...

  4. Guys, would it be helpful to post some of our interests here?

I would think that would be good...or change our interests on our profiles....I have looked through the posts of the person I was given and dont have a clue what to give them based on what I've read...lol
  5. My wife loves to shoot so I am not as bad off as some...but she's more stingy than I am when it comes to money...I cant take it with me so I would rather enjoy it now kinda thing....I was loading up about 30 AR mags awhile back and she just rolled her eyes...I think you and I are probably in similar boats...lol

  6. Here is my first assembly of a stripped lower.  Used a LPK I got for Christmas last year.  Will probably replace the safety with something different and put a Geisselle trigger in it next year.  Hopefully I will get the complete upper and buffer tube/stock kit I asked Santa (aka my wife and kids) for this year...Was really cool learning how all the springs and detents and roll pins come together to make everything work...I am officially HOOKED...

  7. I read in another thread pertaining to efile about an internal control number being assigned on the efile website when said member did their own form 1 submission.  I noticed on mine that there is no internal control number assigned, only and ID# and Permit# have info filled in.  Does this indicate a problem with my submission or am I just over thinking this whole thing?  Was just getting close to the 30 day mark alot of people are getting their approvals in am just getting a little anxious to put this SBR together...

  8. Recently picked up a Spikes lower that I plan to build up, but am looking at just getting a completed upper instead of assembling here and there.  Found an Aero URG and wanted opinions.  I planned to purchase the BCG and charging handle separately also.  Link is below and price didn't seem too far out of whack.  Thanks for the advice/input...
