  2. well i dont like HiPoints iether but i did have the .380 at one time I probably shot it 500 times never cleaned it except for running a patch through the barrel and it went bang every time,my boss who makes 160.00 a year but knows nothing and probably dont care bought a 45, when i asked him why a HiPoint he said cheap and lifetime warranty and he just wants something in the house. So yes there is a market for Hi Point and they know what it is,so good for them!! everybody is not a collector or whatever you are.

  3. hey it is very easy to do yourself,I think the front sight is a 3/32 or something like that if you use a reguluar socket you will have to grind the OD so it will fit inside the slide and nut very simple, use a vise and wrap the slide in something so it wont get scratched, use a brass punch and drift the old out and drift the new in, once they get about half way in you will have to give it a pretty good tap but dont beat the hell out of it,then find a reference point on the slide and sight and make 100% sure its even on both sides.I have used locktite on some and not on others never had a problem iether way so your choice.especially on a glock if someone at a shop wants to be a douchbag walk away,do it yourself and like the previous poster said look on you tube alot of selfhelp for everything you could ever want to know about glock.SingleStack i hope this helps you good luck

  4. Me personally I really like the kimber you can get a custom II and then your unlimited to thy type of customization you might want to do,you should be able to get a custom II for about 850. I call mine a kimber/wilson combat/Ed brown custom (haha) good luck

  5. You carry it hammer down or cocked and locked? Actually, it's not drop/impact safe with hammer down is it, just like a 1911?

How do the rest of y'all carry them? I'm quite happy with my PM9, but admit I've found this pistola attractive, but doubt I'll ever bump down to .380.

Ive carry'd mine cocked and locked every since i bought it, thats on my belt in my coat pocket and in shorts and jeans pockets and never have i fealt it was a concern thats the way it designed to be carry'd, in my opinion the 238 is the best pocket pistol on the market by far.

  6. :tinfoil: Just my opinion but if you want a shooter go with the sp101 it hill handle a lifetime of shooting,I've had several smiths over the years and still do but I've always had it in the back of my mind it wont hold up to alot of pressure so they sit in the safe. It's wierd if you have a ruger auto at a gun show people snub thier nose but a ruger revolver they always want to see it.but I will say i have only seen one problem with a smith wheelgun it was a k frame and some hot ass loads(cracked forcing cone).OH Hell I love em all get a smith and a 101

  7. I own many Sigs and Glocks too.  I consider myself a Sig guy, but can not ignore the Glock.  Think of it this way, the Sig is absolutely a beautiful weapon, smooth, and just sexy.  Its kinda like the beautiful classy girl in High School, the one that made your heart race when you looked at her, and the one you would bring home to mama.  However, the Glock will do just fine, its ugly, not as sexy.  Its kinda like the fat or ugly girls in high school, not to sexy, little plump but sure were dependable to put out if you know what I mean.  Both will do fine if you can score!

I do know this, if my Sig P220 was to accidently slip out of my hand, and hit the concrete, I would look all over the gun for dents and scratches, and fret about them, however if my Glock 21 fell to the ground, I could care less.

Man i think that is the absolute best way i have heard this debate be explained, very well done and yes i love both in guns and women(haha)

  8. I would say if you go with a Kimber stay with the fullsize there is some variences with Kimber when you look at the catalog and then see whats out on the market,I have a new custom II but mine came with meprolights from the factory but i did pay just a little more for it. I put rosewood grips on it wilson combat barrel bushing and wilson mainspring and magwell and i run 47d mags, I could not be more happier with it but I do have a gun that started out at 900 and now i have almost 1200 in it I know i'll never get that back out of a custom II but it is 1 of a kind so i am happy, but the main thing not one problem ever whatsoever. I really don't know why Kimber gets a bad rap sometimes,Get whatever your gut tells you to go with with the 1911 you can make it like you want the options are endless have fun with it.

  9. My girl carries an old frame Colt Mustang that is heavier than the 238 or the new Pocketlite, but it's a heck of a weapon and not big by any stretch. Pretty sure hers is steel, can't be sure, but it's definitely not the aluminum of the Pocketlite.

Man ime glad someone mentioned the sig 238,me personally i went through almost every polimer pistol on the market, ime talking kel-tec mutipile times 2 ruger lcp's and the taurus tcp, even tried the taurus polimer revolver called the protector, anyway spent alot of money and alot of ammo, then finally went to the 238 man i could not be happier to anyone reading spend the extra money and go with the 238 or the new mustang, you will not regret it they are both very pleasurable to shoot so you can use them as a range gun also.just my 2 cents.

  10. No real problem with keltec for me, had to send a pf-9 back no problems and when it came back it has ran 100%. the only thing i think keltec could do is even if they had to raise the price a little is produce guns that are a little more refined on looks and performance.when my pf-9 came back it was like it was a totally different gun on every aspect(the way the slide racked back, the way the mag fit, trigger pull) you could tell in had definatly been gone through.I would pay an extra 50 for that kind of product. :hat:

  11. I posted this on the women's discussion area, but it's worth an opinion from guys, so here is my question.

My 61-year-old sister wants to carry. She is a minister's wife and often most go to and from her car in seedy areas of town. She is only 4 foot 10 inches tall, so she would be an easy mark for any bad guy.

She has her HCP, but finding a suitable weapon has proven to be very difficult. She has VERY, VERY small hands and she is very weak. The Bersa Thunder 380 and Walther PK380 were too big for her hand. She has SMALL hands. My Taurus 85 38 special was so big that she could barely hold it. It took all her strength to pull the trigger and it bruised her hand, leaving it purple the next day. She won't carry it or shoot it again. I thought about buying her a small 22 revolver, but everything I read says the trigger pull is hard on these little revolvers. Forget the LCP and KelTecs, by the way. I have one. She tried it and it was too big and too hard to pull the trigger. Plus, those little guns kick, especially for a senior citizen with arthritis. I'm willing to pay for gunsmithing if that's what it takes to find something for her. By the way, I just bought her a Jennings J22 and a Beretta Bobcat 25ACP that I intend to field test soon for reliability, but I'd prefer something with more rounds and/or more firepower. They aren't much gun, but right now she has no gun. In my thinking, a 4 foot 10 inch, 90 pound woman is better off with a 22LR/25ACP gun instead of NO gun.

Okay, so what are her options? Also, while we are at it, what about a home defense weapon? I'm thinking maybe a Youth model 410 shotgun?

I would suggest the sig p238 i have one and it is very safe to carry cocked and locked, so that way she wouldn't have to worry about racking the slide and they shoot very well with low recoil, or the other option that came to mind is the smith&wesson 637 airweight something she can shoot single action instead of a heavy DA trigger. but thier are so many options on the market just let her handle as many guns as she can and she'll know when she has found the right one, as for home defense 12 gauge shotgun with 3 inch 00buckshot beside your bed will always do the trick.everybody says a pistol of some sort for home, but emagine waking up to someone breaking in your house and you trying to get your sights ligned up to make a shot half asleep and scared also. with a shotgun in a room the size of a bedroom the spread of a shotgun will do it.in a home defense situation let the bad guy come to you and be ready do not approach them(all sorts of senarios could be played out on that theory also).hope this helps you a little, i know ill probably get bashed for some of the things i said here but its my opinion on the subject.

  12. i really think u would really like the sig 238 i went through almost every polimer pocket gun on the market, yeah alot of money and ammo. got the sig and am very happy use a desantis nemisis pocket holster. it actually shoots like a much larger gun, pricey but worth every penny.

  13. I would say the mag also, i would load the stock mag and then chamber a round then remove the mag and put the last one in agian, and always pull the slide back and let it go try not to ride it at all. CD feeds no problem in my 238 but at first i was concerned about the rubber also. what i did was load the gun with every different kind of ammo i had just not to waist alot of the same stuff i believe i had 1 flat nose winchester 2 cor-bons 1 round nose 1 hydro-shock and a CD and it fed without a problem.I have since put a whole box of CD through it without a problem, if it will feed hydro's or cor-bons it should feed anything since they are so wide mouthed.hope this helps you

  14. man go with the 238, i myself after going through almost every polimer pocket 380 on the market and tried the lcp twice and alot of ammo. finally bit the bullet and my wallet picked up a 238 and could not be happier its like having a fullsize 1911 that u can put in your pocket. spend the money and get it u will not be disappointed. hope this helps u

  15. cool pistol, man i do get tired of all the kimber bashing on the net. mine has worked flawlessly from day one, and other people i know that has them no problems iether. maybe some of the bashing is from folks that are not used to the 1911 platforme.anyway nice looking pistol, enjoy
