  1. What did you not like about the Rangemaster class? Who was your instructor/instructors?

I've never taken any classes at RangeUSA, but I know a few who have. Most people that take the carry permit class seem to get a lot more out of it when they go to Rangemaster.

I took the shotgun class at Rangemaster. I don't remember the instructors. There were three. They told me the class started at 9. I called to confirm the class time because the internet had a different time and was told 9. I got there at 9 along with about half the class and they said the class started at 10. I thought that the instructors were jerks.

The class itself was good but I just like the Range USA. They can teach you without being a donkey about it. The class at Range USA had fewer people in it so things move along a lot faster.

FYI I have not taken the carry permit class so I can't say either way on that class.

  2. I'm not real crazy about a manual safety on a DA semi-auto either. I really did hope that Ruger was going to come out with a Glock G23 or G27 size pistol, not a full size. We've already got too many full size poly frame pistols on the market.

I don't think it is DA.

  3. It is stamped on the barrel to not fire anything less than a 120 grain bullet. I haven't got around yet to researching exactly why that is.

bwswanson: The Glock 36 is a fine carry gun. I wanted something I could drop in my pocket, and you just can't do that with a G36. It's too big and heavy, but perfect for wearing with a holster.

    Thanks for answering my question.

  4. Obviously this is not something which they actively enforce...

From what I gather, this effectively would make any private transaction, even in-state, taxable...

This could shut down yard-sales and flea-markets across the state!

Sorry to get off the original post but since it was brought up:

In KY they have a provision that yard sales are exempt from use tax unless you make over $XX. I would assume that TN would have a similar law but I'm not sure. In KY they would to go to flea-markets and collect sales tax from the vender's. So the price you would pay included sales tax. But things like magazine subscripts are subject to use tax. TN is more aggressive than most states in collecting use tax.
