  1. Not sure if it has anything to do with the rumors, but there was a shooting incident in California at LAX.  Ive already heard the "AR15" media spin and "assault rifle" lingo being tossed around.

  2. My better half is a photographer and has coached me along in taking some really cool shots of my reloading obsession. I like doing macro stuff mostly and once she gets her new photo printer she's going to help me mount them to decorate the gun room with. Keep at it I think our firearms hobby is a great subject for pics.
  3. Its not a Ruger but I have a Browning takedown and its been nice and tight for years.  I love 10/22's and I can only imagine that Ruger would at least try to meet the longevity of a Browning.  I've been toying with getting one of the Ruger take downs as well, once 22 ammo is around again.

  4. Well I have no doubt the trigger wont be like a Python but considering the Taurus is DA only almost any DA/SA revolver will have it beat.  I also already reload for 38/357 and wouldn't mind another 357 pistol that is carry worthy.  Sounds like they are decent pistols from what I have read.  He mentioned something about it being based on a S&W J-Frame?  Possible?  Size looks about right.

  5. Well it's here.  And I am already tired of buying M80 pulls to feed this Blackout.  Time to fire up the pot and see what happens. Then fire up the toaster over for a go at this whole powder coating business.  We've been getting damn nice groups with the M80 projectiles, but i'd like to get the cost per round down to plink worthy prices.

  6. Someone approached me today (not from TGO) on a trade.  My Taurus .45 Millennium (which I had for sale) for his Rossi 357 mag.  The Rossi seems to pretty standard, blued with a 4" barrel and adjustable rear sights.  I was hoping  to sell the 45 for 3 gun funds, but a back up 357 revolver is on my short list.  We're looking at an even trade.  Any opinions on the Rossi's? All of my experience is with Colt and S&W.

    Thanks!

  7. This Winchester Model 02A has been in my family a long time and I recently passed it to my son.  It has been refinished a couple times over the years.  My father once flipped over the handlebars of his bike with it splitting the stock in half.  Needless to say it's far from ideal condition and any financial value it had left is gone, but it has HUGE sentimental value in my family.  As you can see the trigger guard was a cob job, by me, to make it a bit safer for my son to shoot it when he got it.  I never even saw one on it personally, and my dad forgot where it was placed years ago when he was doing some work on the little rifle.  I have only ever seen two guns close to it and both were 04A's.  I was able to snap some pics of the trigger guard so I might have better luck in finding a replacement...so far no luck.  The barrel looks like it was coated in spray paint, the stock was stripped and repaired by my father years ago but never stained or rubbed. And now I would like to finish this little family project.  Like I said I know value is out the window already anyway so I think I am ok to get this project underway.

I have a few cold bluing products around but I have only ever done small parts with them.  Any advice on how a whole barrel could come out if the time and prep were put into it?  Anyone have experience with something like this?

Any idea where I can find a trigger guard or have a replica made perhaps?

Any literature on what color the stock was originally?

Anything will help guys...thanks in advance!  I would like to do as much of this project myself as possible.

    Tim
