Its best if you have the Ultimack railed gas tube. It sets the red dot lower so you get the cowitness. If you have a rail on top of your stock gas tube it may not cowitness because the red dot will be set too high above the irons.

You really don't have to get used to it. The optic is that far forward so that a cowitness can be achieved with the red dot and iron sights.

  If it jammed I would like to think, actually Im positive, that the shooter would point the muzzle down to clear the weapon. But accidents do happen and thats why I've asked this question to get everyones take on it.
