Not trying to be a pain, but China is not who we need to be worried about. We buy all their stuff. They have no desire in screwing us. Then they have no one to buy the things they are making, and they don't get paid back on the debt we owe them. China is not going to invade the US.
As for preparing for similar scenario of some sort, I'd say learn to hunt and have things saved in more than 1 spot as has been said already. -
Yeah I'm always a bit confused about the gun cleaning accidents. how does one clean a gun with a bullet in the chamber? seems it needs to be out to slide a rod or rope through the gun.

This is my biggest fear. I know there would most likely be no criminal charges held against me but civil cases can get expensive and ugly.
I'll have to do some research to find the article, but there was a case a few years ago to where a robber broke into a home and was met by the armed homeowner who shot the perp. He perp didnt die but was in ICU for almost a month from the multiple gun shots he had received. The Perp sued the homeowner and won causing the homeowner to pay all medical fees associated with the shooting. It came out in the hundreds of thousands. My opinion is that it was a bad call on the judge but it just goes to show that it is a possibility. I dont know about anyone one else but 100k is not in my budget lol
but then again that would not stop me from emptying a clip
That's why if you are shooting at someone, it's to kill and not maim.

Speaking of propaganda piece, nice chart. At Obama's election the DJIA was at 9500. You conveniently cut that part out and post the start of your chart 2 months after he took office, after the stimulus bill passed, and after the DJIA dropped 3k from his election to under 6500.

I just released a new iPhone app for budgeting and thought I'd share it with you. Ez Budget is a budgeting app that implements Dave Ramsey's envelope system of budgeting. I tried several different things and couldn't find anything that worked the way I wanted it to, so I just made it myself. Some features are:
-Define spending envelopes
-Group the envelopes into categories
-Manually import transactions
-Automatically import transactions using OFX for banks that support it
-Badge appears on the categorize transaction button to inform you of how many uncategorized transactions you have.
-Split income and transactions into multiple envelopes
-Keep a running total for the amounts in each envelope
-Keep track of the balance for all envelopes
-Keep track of past transactions

Thanks, that site is pretty nice. Apparently Ohio won't let me go to a restaurant that serves alcohol. Kentucky on the other hand, you can go into places that have a gunbuster sign up. You have to leave if they notice and ask you to leave, but it isn't illegal. Interesting.

I suspect it has more to do with the fact that he was military. Nobody is going to try and ban weapons from the military. There is just nothing to be done about the crazy military guy.

i was just looking for a MTAC holster for my railed 1911 and was led to believe they don't make one. am i missing something?

already checked with both of them. they are full. right now the plan is guns and leather on the 15th if i can't find something this weekend.

I've been planning to take my carry permit and the soonest i can find a class open is next weekend the 15th. That isn't too bad, I was just hoping to find something this weekend. If anyone has any spots open or knows of some let me know.

Feinstein probably wouldn't have been the majority leader. More likely Schumer or Durbin. I'd prefer to have none of the above. Hopefully in 2 years that will be the case. As has been said, the only reason he won was he didn't haven't much competition. In general I like the Tea Party ideals, but they gotta do a better job of screening candidates. We lost in Delaware for the same reason.

FWIW i think it is ridiculous to call the car owner liable in any way. As has been stated, there are plenty of ways to steal a car. If the guy wanted to steal a car he can and will do so. How hard it is is of no relevance at all. The only reason this is being done is because the thief has no money to take or can't be caught, and some jack@ss lawyer told the victim he might be able to get money out of someone else, i.e. police or car owner.
My dad owns a construction company. One of his workers fell off of a roof and broke a lot of bones. Lawyers hounded him for months to sue the company so he finally did. The company provided the worker with safety equipment but he for whatever reason didn't use it. They sued because the company didn't force him to use the safety equipment. WTF?!? seriously. they settled with him because if he happened to win the ridiculous case they would have gone out of business.
This is the type of BS that makes me sick. Take some personal responsibility, and stop trying to spread blame where it isn't deserved. the gun didn't kill someone, the person pulling the trigger did. the car, and the car owner didn't hurt anyone, the person driving the car did. it is as simple as that.

We do disenfranchise a lot of our population, and the two parties [i]want it this way.[/i] It makes it easier for their candidates to get elected, if those who are not supporters of the party do not vote.
This is why we have all these new Voter ID laws, because the GOP knows those who are put out by having to have ID won't get to vote, and they know those people being put out usually vote Democrat. Block your opponent's voters, win the election. Disenfranchise them, they will quit trying to vote.
Another example is the blocking of third party candidates. They are not on the ballot, they are not threat, and those who wish to vote for them either stay home, or vote for someone they do not want.

If you can't be arsed to register or get an ID to vote, then you aren't interested enough for me to want you to vote. Allen West's District had higher turnout than registered voters, so I think fraud is a bigger problem than you realize.
