Be aware of the RCBS turret press and the 0.005" turret wobble, sent back to Midway and got the Redding T7 turret. The T7 made reloading enjoyable again
-
I will also agree with everyone else about the crimp ( i have Redding Profile Crimp), I hope you have a case gage.

I thought you guys would get a KICK out of it !!!!

I forced myself to use Windows 8 by installing it on my work computers. I actually got used to using the tiled interface. I thought I would hate it, but I actually find it OK now. I appreciate the live tiles, like weather and news.
I loaded Win 10 in a VM on my home PC and noticed right off that the tiled interface was missing, being replaced by a horrible version of the start menu. You can flip between the the startmenu, or the tiles, but not both, if I recall correctly. The New Start Menu is horrible. It flys out these bulky tiles, which are difficult to navigate.
I had heard that they were revamping the PowerShell app to function more like other programs where Copy / Paste worked from Ctl-C / Ctl-V, and be able to select text in wrap-around format instead of block. Unfortunately, this feature is not available in the preview.
I have been hearing rumors that it will be a free upgrade for people who own Win8.
Quote:
The first big news: Windows 10 will be offered as a free upgrade to current users of Windows 8.1, Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 7 during its first year of availability.

Thank you. I really didn't know it was that good of a deal until I got it home. I knew it was a good rifle, just not that good.
I see a Dillion xl 650 on the horizon!!

I've had a few calls from Blue Cross/Blue Shield partners that are legit, but couldn't understand the "accent" either, which I'm pretty sure was just UAUB*, though.

You know that it is Federal Law that if you can not understand a person you have the right to ask for an English speaking person.I do all the time when i need to.

Hi all, I have received and reported the following tel. numbers to the FTC
call from 213-337-0014 informing me that i could be arrested by the Federal Government for breaking the law.
What law? I could not understand him.He talked with an arabic accent!( party store or gas station type) dead give away
The number he left to call back was 804-337-3043. That was about the only thing i could understand from the answering machine.
I wonder if obama will protect this guy or build more mosques
-
I just called Sig as i bought a 1911 C3 and asked them what brands to keep away from
Quote
We like American Eagle but any ammo brands will work,But stay away from any ammo with steel cases

I use Thumblers Tumbler (worth every penny) with a tsp of Lemi-shine, a dash of Brasso and a few drops of dish soap. Toss in some stainless steel pins for medium and the brass come out shiny and new. Then rinse with distilled water.
I use Hornady wax when forming the brass case in the sizing die. It gets a little dirty so I just give it a wipe with a paper towel.
^ +1 I have been waiting for mine cheap tumbler to burn up (maybe sabotage it LOL) so i can replace it with uv 18.
I have seen reviews that people have these 30 years and are still working
Expensive tho $180 - $200 but buy once cry once
Here is a extensive review uv 18

Anything over 5 cents per round I don't consider affordable for 22 LR ammo.
Will we ever see that price again? Even at 5000 rounds today .22 Lr are still eight cents a round!!!!
I am dating myself but i was in the era of forty cents a box and < $5.00 bricks
-
I believe no one mentioned that when you first start reloading, load up some dummy rounds(minus powder and primers) until you get it right and gain confidence.
Keep your best crimp as a sample.
Start with used brass or range brass
-
this is the example i used to critique my crimps. I made these crimps for every caliber reload. This is taken from the The High Road website, Lee Roder member
-
I did manage to get the roll-pin in without further destruction.
Large applications of gun oil & molybdenum grease. Learned my lesson. The last roll pin (gas tube) will be covered up by something else, so hopefully all will look decent.
i start mine and press them in with this http://www.amazon.com/Vise-Grip-12LC-12-Inch-Locking-Pliers/dp/B00004SBB1 with a piece of lexan on opposite side not to mar surface

I already have a nice digital scale (and a smelting furnace incase I decide to start casting my own bullets,) that I use in my small silver scrapping hobby I've been into for several years, I plan to use it with the reloading.
I have seen on some kits they list the die for .38 and .357 differently, but on some they have just the .357 or .38 I was wondering if the one die makes both on the kits that only list one or the other or am I just reading it wrong somehow?
Hornady 38 357 die set http://www.hornady.com/store/38-357-357-Max-.357-3-Die-Set/
I like to use the reloading manual from the bullet manufacturer ie Hornady,Speer.Sierra and Barnes to name a few. Although you cannot get too many manuals
I use this reloading website as a reference tool http://www.handloads.com/loaddata/default.asp?Caliber=38%20Special&Weight=All&type=Handgun

Well said Leroy

Just about any standard pistol powder will be usable. For all around, Unique is hard to beat. Bullseye is my favorite powder, easy metering and versatility. In today's world, buy what you can and scour reputable manuals to find the data you need. .38 is where I started and is about as easy and rewarding as it gets. I'll recommend one thing that'll make your life easier, order a a separate crimp die regardless of the brand dies you buy and specifically the Redding Profile Crimp for .38/357. You can thank me later :)
+1 on the Redding i have on for every pistol caliber that i reload for
Unique HS 6 HP 38, HP 38 is equal to 231

Here's what I've got so far.

Hornady Classic single stage press kit $449 no dies http://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/product/productId/23675
Everybody loves Lee products Here is there single stage complete kit $129 http://www.midwayusa.com/product/121744/lee-challenger-breech-lock-single-stage-press-kit?cm_vc=ProductFinding
I love my Redding Turret T 7 press. I can do a run of ammo without any adjustments(checking the correct powder grains every 10 pieces, it is a no hassle system
If at a later time and you need to make more ammo a progressive is the ticket,Dillon is the best bar none
Then check out the pawn shops and craigslist and keep an eye here in the for sale system
The links i gave for examples i used Midway and Graff and sons websites are only examples and i am not employee or salesman for either.
Midway has fantastic customer service although they will not offer any sugestions
I called Graff and Sons and told my plans and they set me up with a complete system.
hope this helps

..............or you can take the seater plug out of your seating die to see where it lands on the bullet(tip or ogive), This will be a positive identifier
and each bullet is different round nose or jacketed hollow point ie http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread917836/pg1
-
+1 on the Hornady dies.If you get the Hornady dies check out the free bullets,if you can use the caliber it will knock $20 off the price(price of the free bullets)
Otherwise Redding are the ones i like
