  1. once you get the true expungement papers,  you can expedite the tbi/federal removal by faxing in to the TBI

    see here :

    https://www.tn.gov/content/dam/tn/tbi/documents/cjis/Expungement-FAQ-2018.pdf

the expungement is what takes the longest... mine was 4 to 5 months ( this expungement was supposed to have been done 5 years earlier when the case was dismissed as part of the dismissal --- it was not done)

my fax was answered with a call to my cell phone in a few hours after it was faxed... telling me I was good to go pick up the firearms I had purchased but could not pick up until the record was cleared.

went to FFL  that day and TICS came back NO PROBLEM in like 10 minutes

  2. S&W  Kings in columbia..

Personally I used GT distributors in Chattanooga( actually over the line in Rossville,Georgia)  for

Glock 19 gen4 with night sights  $455...  they  run it up the street to the pawn shop FFL in TN and you do the TICS check there

  3. I have a buddy with a FARM he is going to take us out and teach us to start off... We are reading all the manuals and stuff... I bought dummy rounds so we can practice loading, unload, clearing, safe handling,... before we even introduce live rounds into the mix

we don't want to be "THAT GUY"

still need to get ears and eyes (looking for ears that allow you to hear when someone is teaching you-- the ones I used at the range didn't let me hear anything) probably look for a deal on 1000 rounds... and I like the green viridian laser and light

will worry about vehicle safe and holster as we progress

oh and find a GOOD permit class
  4. Still waiting on Expungement packet in the Mail... I found a rule stating TBI can expedite expungement for Firearm purchase ....so I will doing that once I get my Packet... either way TBI already told me to try again and if denied fax copy of expungement in with appeal....

Naturally Dr. has cleared me to return to work this week... so I will not have a ton of time to go to RANGE and learn how to shoot like I had planned when this all started
  5. UPDATE----Applying to TICS denied ... I filed appeal... other posts said Call TBI??

Well today I talked to court... and expungement moving forward as I am no longer in the LOCAL clerks computer.... I will get my Packet in 2 weeks....

then all agencies and TBI notified and TBI supposed to Tell FBI....

so hopefully the Guns are still at the FFL waiting for me (as he was not original dealer) and they are paid for...

**If I paid and own guns, what happens If FFL sold guns that he didn't own??? ***

TBI did tell me that once I have the Packet, go get the background check done again and if denied, fax appeal with a copy of the Expungement papers and all should be good to go

This was all with only ever being arrested once EVER and that case was RETIRED, so no convictions EVER... ( the court clerk said my lawyer should have done the expungement immediately on the retirement date... HE DID NOT...

so hopefully I will have my G19's in about a month... will keep you posted

  6. I suggest at least calling one of the true Distributors.. and check pricing... I was told at local dealers that it was the same price if I bought from Local dealer... It was not... better price at the Distributor, but I had to take a Drive to go to the Distributor
  7. I did some research b4 I bought my G19's and the true BLUE LABEL Dealers are in Georgia just over the line in Chattanooga--
GT distributors and there is one over by Knoxville Craigs firearms

Blue Label G19 with factory Night sites .. I paid $455 each Not sure if GSSF is same as LEO discount or if GSSF is a smidge
    higher in price...

You Buy at GT and they run it over to Quick Cash pawn a few blocks away in TN.. and background check and pickup happens there.

Glock website has G19 Gen4 at $425 with polymer sites GSSF price. still not sure if you have to go to a distributor
or any blue label dealer (guessing any blue label dealer)

  8. Good Question and I do not know official answer....

Having said that, My opinion is you only get 2 Hands and 10 Fingers... cant really replace them... Why even take the chance??
  9. He got a conditional proceed. That means whatever agency denied him never responded to TICS. That means the gun store CAN sell him the gun, but they are not required to do so. An overturn would mean they received his expungement. Something is still amiss for him.

correct "conditional proceed"... The court did not respond in the 15 days so TBI puts it on the FFL to make the call... there seems
to be liability to it.... I have not gotten my expungement papers back yet. I guess my wife could go buy 2 completely different guns but think we will just wait at this point
  10. I was 20 years ago A+, Net+ and it will get you in the door for entry level hardware break fix... I spent a bunch of years with
Hewlett Packard... I was working 24/7 with a pager.. it was killing me... I used my volunteer fire dept experience to get out of Corp America in NJ and moved the family to Tennessee for a career fire Job... best thing I ever did
