  1. I can say that when I switched from CCI 400's to Wolf Small Rifle Magnum I picked up an extra 200 FPS. Same load with the same powder, same charge weight, same cases and the same bullet seated to the same depth. I had never tried Wolf primers before so in the loading process I loaded some brass with Wolf rather than CCI 400's. I then went on to load ALL the brass in the same way then I went back and checked primers to get the Wolf primed bullets out of the bunch. I took 5 of those and 5 of the CCI 400's and ran them over the chronograph.

    Here are the results:

Good info. Wolf primers have a good reputation for low ES and SD which would agree with your real world testing. By any chance have you had the opportunity to compare the Wolf's against CCI BR or Federal GMM primers for ES/SD?
  2. you failed to say that they hated everybody.

if somebody reads your post, could understand that nazis are fine just becouse they hate communists.

just like recruiters or creditors do , they just tell you part that you wont to hear.

I don't really think that anyone but you could make the leap that I meant that Nazis were okay because they hated communists.:poop: I was simply saying that Nazi's hated communists but they WERE socialists, like you.:P
  3. That is completely different. It's not like they gave him less money than they had agreed upon.

This is a two sided issue. Both parties have to be in agreement for this deal to go through. They didn't do anything without his consent and approval.

Read the next to last sentence of my post again. Also, it's not exactly completely different. In both examples that I had provided the other party essentially "agreed" to the "deal" through ignorance or oversight. I didn't because it wasn't right. Period. Even though in both cases I would have been the beneficiary in the "deal".
  4. I just can't understand how anyone can condone this behavior as reported here. I realize that a sucker is born every minute, but there's a thief born every minute too.

A few years ago a client overpaid me by several hundred dollars for some work. Apparently she had forgotten the price we had originally agreed upon. When I looked at the check after I got home, I immediately called and informed her that she had overpaid and drove across town to her house to get a new check for the correct amount. She would have never known she had overpaid, but I knew. Just the other day I was at Waffle House paying my check. I noticed that the waitress was about to give me $1 more change than I was due. I told her that she was about to give me too much change. She would have never known, but I knew. I don't care if it's $1 or $1,000, My soul is not for sale. I will never take advantage of another person even if they should have known better. And I have no use for anyone who could.:poop:

  5. When I was a kid, they were called dopes for example ( If your goin to the store, get me a grape dope )

ustacud- I can't no more but I ustacud

I've been known to say ustacud on occasion. And my grandfather always called soft drinks dope too. He also pronounced Toyota tI-yO-tEE(as three distinct syllables). I always thought that was funny.:D
  6. My short list:

    Commander size 1911 in .45

    Full size 1911 in 9mm

Remington or Savage Custom in 6.5-284, 6.5 Creedmoor, or .260 Rem.

    M1A

    USFA SAA

  7. Do they stock the S&W 29? Do they trade? I haven't been there in a while. I was able to bet some Unique & Bullseye around Christmas time.

    Cherokee Slim

Instead of trading that Colt, why not try to sell it in the classifieds here? You'll get more than any shop will give you on trade and 1911's seem to move pretty fast through the classifieds. Heck, you might even find someone who would want to trade a 29 or 629 for it. Worth a shot anyway if you're not in a huge hurry.
  8. I think the Tea Party will do fine. They got rid of another idiot this weekend. Sarah's message doesn't tower over anything. She has a very loyal following with the far right, but that's as far as it goes. Real poor polling with independents, and it won't change.
I really like Palin's message and think she is definitely what this country needs in many ways. But you are right, she will never win over the majority of voters. The liberal media was very successful with their intense smear campaign in 2008. I think Michelle Bachmann needs to take the reigns. She is philosophically basically the same as Palin, but has avoided the wrath of the liberal media thus far. Most of the people will believe what they're told by the media, which is why Palin has relatively low approval. See our current president for proof of the power of politically run media persuasion.
  9. I really don't think that Obama can be compared to Hitler.

I see him more as a Lenin.

I can't compare him to either Lenin or Hitler, but politically he is more similar to Hitler(Socialist). The thing that really separates him from both Hitler and Lenin is that they both sought to make their countries forces in the world, to make their countries better than the rest. Obama seeks to take what is already exceptional and make it ordinary. That is the key difference I see at this point.
  10. We agree, but for a more philosophical approach - Generally speaking (in the context of the OP) conservatism is governed by fairly rigid principles of right and wrong as laid out in the Constitution. So we do have a very clear moral compass. That's why it is so easy to spot when we are off or violate those principles and liberals LOVE to call us on it. Liberalism is rooted in current ideas and perception of emotions (hedonism) so how ever they feel at the moment guides their ideology. It's like nailing jello to the wall.
+100. Although I hate using the term liberal to refer to these progressives/socialists. They are not actual liberals by any stretch of the imagination.
  11. Check my math... But that's 190 Cigs a day... 190/24 is 7.9... So, let's call it 8... 60/8 is 7.5...

One cigarette every 7.5 minutes.... And it probably takes, what, a minute or two to smoke them? So that's 5 mins between cigs...

    WOW.

Actually it would take closer to five minutes to smoke a cigarette. Factoring in the fact that he would have to sleep at least a few hours a day, he would have been smoking non-stop.
  12. I swear! Sometimes I think you jokers buy 1911's for the same reason a brotha wears his pants half way to the floor. 'Cause everyone else is!
Or because we just like them. I own other brands of pistols too and I shoot them all. But the one handgun I have that goes to the range every time I do is a 1911. They just fit my hand better and point more naturally than any other pistol I have ever shot. The fact that every one else buys them too is just the icing on the cake.:)
  13. Agreed, but those are several thousand dollar custom 1911s you are talking about. The FBI's Springfields are $2500 and custom made and hand fitted by experienced gunsmiths.

If you compare the 1911s made at a similar price point to the Glock 17.... the reliability doesn't compare. For all the merits of the 1911, the design might not be intended for a mass produced production gun. It's at home in the hands of an experienced gunsmith and not an assembly line.

am i totally in left field on this?

I think you are somewhat correct. Although I am sure many would argue that the Rock Islands and a few other 1911s that are at or below the price of Glocks can be just as reliable. I don't know as I have never owned an RIA or similar level 1911, but I have heard that they are actually very reliable regardless of price. It is true that the 1911 platform was not designed to be a cookie cutter massed produced firearm like a Glock, XD, etc., the technology was very different 100 years ago. The 1911 was designed to be hand assembled from mass produced parts. The platform is absolutely capable of 100% reliability with appropriate ammo, but any time you bring significant hand assembly into the equation you can expect some errors to be made. Of course there are plenty of Glocks, Sigs, etc. that don't run 100% right out of the box as well. Honestly, I seem to hear of more initial, out of the box reliability problems out of the high-end custom 1911s than I do out of the looser toleranced RIA, STI Spartan, and Springfield Mil-Spec level guns.
  14. I really think alot of the 1911 horror stories are from "do-it-yourself-gunsmiths" who messed with them and don't want to admit it to anyone and then blame on the 1911 platform being unreliable.
+1. The 1911 platform is certainly not unreliable. One year shy if its 100th anniversary and it's still in use by SWAT teams, the FBI HRT, and a few military spec ops forces. That just doesn't happen with an unreliable platform. My guess is that if 50 different manufacturers made a copy of the Glock 17, it would get a quick reputation for being unreliable too.
