I've looked over that ad 3 times now...I don't see why in the hell people are shelling out that much for a used one when the new ones are readily available for $500ish???  People really do just get a desire to "win the bid"...god bless gunbroker.

Why don't you go out and shoot it? Stop playing with your gun you will go blind 🍆

My first thought.  I already don’t love set screw gas blocks, let alone this clamp style.

Let's us know how it goes after you do the block and the tube.

  3. Not to mention that looks like one of those Chinese clamp on blocks. Its highly possible it was out of spec from the jump. Let your friend know you really get what you pay for in the gun world.

  4. Things I would check.

    1. Check gas key. I sold a perfect spikes NiB that had a broken bolt that would short stroke.

    2. Check gas rings.

    3. Check buffer spring.

Base on the condition of the barrel and gas block I would change check just in case.

I actually still have my first AR. Like David, it's a 1995 Bushmaster 16" Dissipator. RDS weren't a thing at that time and very few civilian purchase options were available .

The photo was taken August 28th 2005, the day before Katrina hit back home (MS). It was/is a decent gun for the time .

There is essentially no BLM land east of the Rockies.  As mentioned check the TWRA website.  While there is land in TN under the control of the NPS, shooting is a no go.

Your only options are public/private ranges or knowing somebody with land.

Thanks that what I figure I'm just trying to sight in my rifle 50 yards outdoor guess I'll have to buy some land..
