Does the gun look like a Browning A5? If so I think your gun may be a Stevens 720 sold by Western Auto.
Edit- you posted the pic while I was typing. Yep, Stevens 720 -
Post a picture. It's going to be made by and probably interchangeable with either Winchester, Mossberg or High Standard. I'll guess HS I think they had a 400 model.

Currently I own a DOA S&W 9mm but i'm not completely comfortable carrying it yet, No safey
The XD doesn't have a safety either and unlike the DAO trigger of the Smith, the XD has what I would describe as a trigger pull similar to a single action.

Not a big Zombie Fan. But A&E new series "Walking Dead" is great. Let the Post Apocalypse mayhem begin.

I looked for any negative feedback but couldn't find any. Seems they've been selling this set up since May, unknown if same price since then. I ordered it this am and by noon was notified shipped. $325 plus $14 shipping UPS. Total $339.
Tracking number indicated will be delivered today. That was fast.

Did you order the A4 upper with M4 feed ramps?
Yes was a no-cost upgrade

O.K. It's not a LMT or Colt but for less than $350 shipped, I figured this would be great as beater. 16" Non-chrome lined flat top with railed gas block, and Bold/CH included.

Sticker shock at the door $8, but I'm cheap. Was already in Brownsville so drove to the show probably spent more in gas. Plenty of vendors, prices ok, saw some complete ARs back to pre election prices, one table with new uppers and parts kits etc good prices, lots of dealers, but fewer of the old guys selling odds and ends. Wish I had more time to browse.

Better off with the Houge stock. If need Tactical stock, get the Tapco for the Mini, or there's the SCAR stock. But it cost as much as the rifle.

I have been told that if you and a buddy are at a range shooting your NFA item, and you are overcome by a pressing need to visit the restroom, you had better take the [unloaded] NFA item with you. Otherwise, you can be charged with failure to maintain control of the item and your buddy can be charged with posessing an unlicensed (untaxed?) NFA item.

Better than a Brick. Sipsey Street Irregulars: The Window War: The WaPo generally gets it right with only a couple of obvious errors.
I have read Sipsey Street Irregulars for a while. Just glad Tanner voted against the Health Care bill or might have been tempted.

Link has a Gadsden flag suitable for printing to send to the "O", Senators, and Reps.
Front Sight’s 100th Monday Blog: Let’s Do Something BIG…As you are well aware, the Tea Party Movement is holding numerous rallies in cities across the country through April 15th. The Second Amendment March on Washington, DC is happening on April 19. These are great events that will attract a significant amount of people attending, but there is no way that the “Silent Majority†will be properly represented because we cannot ALL attend. But WE THE PEOPLE, the Silent Majority who are armed, understand our rights, and recognize that the current batch of elected servants in Washington, DC just don’t “get it†can send a clear and concise warning to the government that will make our Founding Fathers smile from above and send a cold chill down the spines of those failing to “…preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.â€

Carry gun? Refer to Marine Rules of gun fighting.
27. Do not attend a gunfight with a handgun, the caliber of which does not start with a ".4"... Rules of Gun Fighting - (Marines; Army; Navy; Air Force)

Lame.
Join the military.
Good for a Young Man to learn, grow, see places, help people, kill people. But who guards against the Vichy here?

I believe any able bodied male (and female) in times of need is what makes up a militia. Poorly trained (usually) and arms himself to respond to defend his home, neighbors and community. Hopefully if needed and pressed into service a leader could emerge (hopefully with training) to coalesce around.
In a civil war, King's men desert, or turn their units back upon the royal cause. Volunteers step forward from the most unlikely of places. All are motivated by a common thread -- the burning desire in many human hearts to be free. I say many, not all, because there are some folks who just prefer being slaves.Yet there are many man and women out there who are preparing to resist. Some are riflemen, some are logistics officers, some are trainers, some are spies, and some are intelligence analysts. Many, many of these are veterans. This is what keeps the more intelligent of our domestic enemies up at night (few they may be) -- they realize that they don't know what they don't know. They don't know how thoroughly they are penetrated now, or will be in the future as people are mobilized by events, by folks who will resist their future grab for absolute power. They do not know how many potential Ned Broy's their own ranks contain.
