$38,000 seems like a lot to take down some signs. Hell we could probably get a few volunteers on here to go around taking them down for free.
Honestly though, if the cost of taking down existing signs is going to keep anything like this from ever going through, how do we ever improve on the current situation?
By replacing the jerks we now have "in charge".

I may shoot down a drone carrying beer just to get the beer! Ha ha ha! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The FAA just shut down beer delivery by drones in Minnesota:
-
Guys, those drones over La Vergne were probably just Amazon's Jeff Bezos practicing the drone delivery method he described on 60 Minutes last month. :woohoo: Dinky dow publicity seeking idea for sure.

We got one being built in Mt Juliet. Across the road from Walmart, Academy, Dicks and the Reloader's Bench. Should get interesting.

I've had several dealers tell me that Texas is the absolute best place to buy a used truck and Tennessee is absolutely the best place to sell one. I know that the number of trucks on the road in Texas is astounding but don't know why they would be more expensive here.

5 degrees in the hallway of my wife's horse barn this am. I think it was somewhere around 120 below zero on top of the hill where our hay barn is located.

It had, if possible, less guns than the last Lebanon show did.

We were in Sydney at the time this cache was found. Quite the news story. Around the same time a jeweler was arrested for making copies of Mac 10's with "silencers" from bar stock. $15,000 each:

When DUIs were misdemeanors (I knew people that had 10 or more), cops often drank on the job, beer cans had pull tabs that could be fashioned into fishin' lures and Staff was a popular beer (at least in my neighborhood).
Remember Oertel's 92?

Buying your first rifle, a Nylon 66, for $59 at the Goodyear Tire store then buying your second one, a Remington 572 Fieldmaster, at the BF Myers furniture store in Goodlettsville.

My wife and I were a couple of rows over when the guy discharged that rifle. We were just discussing the fact that we had been swept several times since entering the show. We've been to some of the biggest gun shows in the nation; Reno, Tulsa, Baltimore/Timonium, etc .and haven't felt as odd (unsafe) as we did yesterday. We left shortly after the incident. Other than safety it was a pretty good show. I don't know the answers, I have some ideas, however some folks better get their act together or it'll get fixed for them.

As much as I think that Obama desperately would like a diversion from Obamacare he can't take credit for this one:
The hat currently worn by women marines has always reminded me of the New York Fire Department hat. I wasn't fond of them while I was spending a lot of time at Quantico and I'm still not fond of them but to each his/her own.

We drove about half of the beltway, from I66 to I95, about mid morning today and saw very few trucks other than our dually/gooseneck rig. Overall traffic was extremely light.

Yep they work. I have a 19" Sony that I bought in the PX in 1980 and the picture and sound are perfect with the original rabbit ears. (My wife told me to get it out of the house so I have it in my reloading/fishing shed).

"TSprint" is the name of the bay horse in the background and on the right side of my avatar. 1 is simply that he is one of the horses in the picture. He is actually the 2d best overall horse that I have ever seen in my lifetime and the spotted horse in the foreground is the best and they are great buddies. I am lucky to have had them in my life.

Syria: Does Use of Chemical Weapons Change Anything?
There is no doubt that Sarin, in any form, is bad stuff but Napalm and WP are pretty indiscriminate killers also. You can aim it but you sure as heck can't fully contain any of 'em. Where do you draw the line? I dunno but I do know that you never, ever broadcast your intentions in advance. Threats that are broadcast publicly are BS. IMO.

For anyone who thinks the US government may not be a part of the problem please explain why we have the 2nd highest effective corporate tax rate in the world. Even higher than just about all, if not all, of the most socialist countries. Why would any company bring any of their earnings to the US with such a punitive tax code? Just ask GE or any of the other large corporations. Want to see who pays what?:
Just a small, but important, part of the problem.

Firearms + on Middle Valley road is open and offering:
Winchester bulk 22 bricks @ $69.99
Baggied 22 LR @ 150 for $30.00
$599.00 Glock 17s
Just what this area needed. I mean, Academy is over 6 miles away! And SW is at least 12!
That's the same price bulk .22 was going for at the Hendersonville gun show last weekend. Didn't see a lot of it and didn't see any sell.

Took a while to find it. The Wilson Post, dated 14 Aug 13, had a front page article post titled "Safety First" that detailed the security that they have in place for the fair this year. I could not find an online link for the article but it basically stated that this year they would be using dogs, that bags or backpacks over 12" were subject to search upon entry and that firearms are not permitted even for those who have a conceal and carry permit. I think that the shooting they had at the fair last year still weighs somewhat heavily on their minds. Now the bad guys know that most law abiders are not likely to be armed. On the same front page of the paper was an article that covered the city council meeting in Mt Juliet that will allow city employees with a concealed carry permit to bring their weapons to work with them. Not to just have them in their vehicle but to carry them anywhere on city property that they might happen to go. The city manager had originally proposed that only elected officials and emergency services be allowed to carry. The city council wasn't having any of that....the vote was 4-1. YMMV.

Don't know how the fund raising part is going to go. I just got the info in the title above, that it is sponsored by Guns and Leather, Gallatin Gun Club, that they will have a pistol shoot, buy, sell, trade, etc. Guess I'll just go and see.
-
Haven't seen it mentioned. Is anyone going to the fund raiser for Courtney Rogers titled "Pistols and Politics" this weekend in Cottontown? For those that either don't know or don't remember, Courtney Rogers is the one that unseated Debra Maggart last election.

I'll bet it was in Ohio - speeding is still a capital offense in Ohio. ;)
Around Columbus I think they would hang you twice if they thought they could get the money.

Leave is leave regardless of the reason. I can guarantee they do not get free or some special kind of leave because they are gay. They are getting the same kind of leave as any other service member.
What is wrong with this statement?
"It is now the department's policy to treat all married military personnel equally,"
I see nothing wrong with the statement or the policy.
I started this thread not to bash gays or anyone else but to point out the hypocrisy of the DOD and by association this administration. This link states unequivocally that the leave will be extra and will not count against the military members 30 days annual. They get 7 days extra leave if married in CONUS and 10 days if married out of the country. Am I reading the below article wrong?
N Range Coming to Mt Juliet
in General Chat
Posted
Didn't see this posted anywhere. Just noticed that N Range is building a new shop/indoor range on the south side of Lebanon Rd just east of Benders Ferry. Really close to Silver Springs Baptist church. Supposed to be open around the 1st of October. Anyone have any experience with their N Range location in Hendersonville?
