  1. I used to buy from SG more than lately. Never had a problem with anything they shipped.

I got out of the habit buying ammo from them a couple of years ago when any ammo they would advertise would get back-ordered immediately if you didn't buy within a day of the ad coming out. But it wasn't their fault that demand was so much higher than supply at that time.

Hopefully it doesn't sell out so quick nowadays.

Rats! Wanted some of their cheapo Eley 22 lr.....ordering today when I got their secret customer e-mail: backordered until Aug 22. Oh well.....no rush....the 10/22 will just have to wait to see if he can eat it!

  2. I'll put in (yet another) good word for Bill's Outpost. I DO really wish I was getting some kind of kickback from the good pub I give him!!

Walked in yesterday to pick up small items and they not only remembered who I was, but what my last two purchases were (one was about a month ago and two from last September)!!! Just class all around.

If you're on Facebook, maybe link up with their page?

  3. ...However, I hope this doesn't somehow open up the floodgates for a bunch of lawsuits against gun companies for wrongful death, because simply put guns don't kill people. it's the person pulling the trigger. No one sues an car manufacturer (or dealership) for selling a car to a person with history of DUI's who buys the car and then goes on to drink and drive and kill someone......

...which is why the idiocy has to stop with the very first one! As Barney Fife would say, "Nip it in the bud!"

  4. Gotta love idiots.

I have carried cond 1 with a 1911 from day one. I did have some apprehension at first. Familiarization with my gun cured that.

Buy a Highpoint and put a case with primer only into it and beat the hell out of it until it fires the primer. I would be willing to bet that never happens unless you manage to crush the gun and the case with the primer.

The more I think about this, I'm wondering if the "idiot" was just not fully understanding or has/had misconceptions about striker-fired guns? I have loved the many graphics and applets that folks have shared on here to actually see the internal workings, or to just field strip one's weapon and see closely just how things work, right? I think everyone's point is well put: get to know your weapon.....

  5. Welcome aboard.

First of all, Tennessee doesn't issue a "concealed" permit. It's a Handgun Carry Permit. Open carry is legal in Tennessee, but I and many others on here would advise that it's a bad idea.

Your Tennessee HCP is among the most widely accepted/recognized carry credentials in the U.S., covering you in 34 or so states. You can check out www.handgunlaw.us for a 50 state map tool and more information.

If you want to, after you get your Tennessee HCP, you can apply for a number of non-resident permits from other states. For example, I hold non-resident credentials from New Hampshire and Pennsylvania.

Here's the USA Carry site that I use, too, if you like a visual aide: Concealed Carry Permit Reciprocity Maps

  6. Hi, Shoot Boss: have been finding out more and more about the Appleseed events and am interested in attending some time--the Manchester one is prob the closest to me here in Knoxville, right? Anyway, went out an got my 10/22 BEFORE really reading up on what was essential for the event--reading from rimfire forum that I need to replace some things with better aftermarket stuff (auto bolt release, tech sights, etc). Question for you--I have the black, synthetic stock without the sling studs, of course--what an idiot I am--and am wondering if I can get away with just a barrel band swivel attachment and then just a one-point loop sling. I don't think I'm talented enough to drill into the stock and put 'em in. Or should I get a smith to do it, in that it needs to be the GI web variety in order to fully appreciate/enjoy an AS event? Also might mention that I've only shot the 10/22 now twice and really like it, and have a scope, but am still very noob with rifle shooting. Any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  7. This idiot is out of control.

He ignors the constitution, by-passes congress, and thinks he is a ruler.

    2012 can't come soon enough.

We need to take our country back.

^^^^ THIS! I have been so astonished by any gun and 2A supporter saying that BHO is not a threat and that the rest of us were/are overreacting. They will never stop.......

  8. BUT, when your a 38 year old bagger at the BIG LOTS, you're wearing a I heart Edward T shirt and your lifes ambition is to finally master Klingon please do not attempt to engage me in an adult conversation about ANYTHING, lmao.
    :poop:

Yeah, when the "real kids" dress up it's cute--not when it's the adults....creeeeeeppppyyyyy.

  9. If you're a weirdo, then I guess I am ,too! Going to the IMAX version tomorrow, and have seen all previous flicks minimum of twice and most probably 5+ times each, no exaggerating. Now for the books? Probably read each minimum of four times each, some more than that. Long drive to work for 6 years helped with that via audiobook from the library. AND I just turned 44 two weeks ago--HA!

I do still prefer my guns versus a wand, though, right? I mean, a bullet would get there faster than my versions of "Expelliarmus". ROTFL!

    OK....now y'all can laugh!:poop:
