  1. I have a No4 Mk1 Enfield I came into really cheap. Looks good overall, the owner had let it sit a very long time and somehow a dirt dobber built a nest in the last 3" of barrel. Try as I might, I can't get the last 3" of barrel to clean up.

I bought pretty good condition barrel off of a guy local. Just need an action wrench to swap the barrel out.

Anyone near the Knoxville area have an action wrench I could use?

  2. I scored a Marlin 1894S in 44 Mag from a coworker some years ago for very cheap. He fired less than a tube full and decided it was too much.

I've had it now since around '94 or so. Thought about getting the stainless version when they were offered but never picked on up.
  3. I have a stainless Contender with a Super 14" 30-30 barrel that I use for deer season. It's a great shooter.
    I use a 10" 222 Rem barrel for groundhogs.
A 10" .22lr barrel for goofing off. I have a few other barrels that see seldom use anymore.

The Contender is a great handgun. Get it. You won't be disappointed
  4. A coworker has a new FDE Tavor. The trigger pull is pretty bad.
When I was working at Barrett, the Israelis brought a Tavor there in hopes of getting it produced at Barrett. We fired it there on the indoor range. The copy they brought in didn't have that bad a trigger. Wonder what the difference is between the Israeli and US produced version.

  5. These are the magazines you want to have:

    http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=MCPAR9&name=C+Products+9mm+Colt+Style+Stainless+Steel+32rd+Mag&groupid=14

$11 each and are all stainless steel. I tried all kinds of other magazines and once I started using these magazines any malfunctions went away.

Wow. That's a smoking good price! Any where else, the 32 rd mags run around $18 or so. I need to get a few for when my DDLES lower gets here. Thought it was going to be a Glock lower but turns out the guy had a Colt style lower.

  6. Interesting to hear. I was under the impression that they were just closing down. If it's true, it's the best news I've heard today. Do you have a source? (Not that I don't believe you)

The new company is supposedly going to be called Blue Falcon Armory.

The long story has been hashed out on Arfcom in the .22 and AR pistol caliber forum there.

A user named tusconconnection has the whole story and has helped a bunch of people get lowers or money refunded. He also knows the people behind the new company that bought all the CAD drawings and machining fixtures from Jon Beaudry.

  7. The Just Right carbine are okay. They use Glock 17 mags.

I have a pieced together 9mm AR. I like it. My brother has the Rock River 9mm AR that is based on the Colt system. It's a very good AR.  Mine is an Olympic style rifle. I like it a lot.

Going to get a DDLES lower once the new company gets up and running now that Jon Beaudry is out of the picture.

  8. I worked at an importer and we imported 10's of thousands of Mosins at a time. We saw every Russian variant there was. I picked up quite a few at landed price. Which was ridiculously low. I only kept my 1920's era hex recovered rifles as they were the best looking rifles.

Was only able to get 1 M39, wasn't too savvy on them at the time till later. Luckily I picked up a nice one like all of us did.

  9. I had a Czech Point vz58 for quite some time. Had about 30 mags to go with it I scored off of GunBroker at $8 each. Wish I hadn't sold it. They are very well made rifles.

  10. When I was at Barrett, we built the Marine Corps some 20" barreled 6.8 uppers for them to use as a DMR style use. They liked them.

I thought about getting one of the 20" barrels and doing my own build but never got around to it.
