Bingo! -
Worth the wait. Inbound transfers (purchases) save you whatever your FFL was charging plus the NIC. Outbound (sales), no real savings. Mine took under four weeks.

If it's a set to go to the ATF regarding an NFA purchase, the Class 3 transfer dealer will often do it.

The mailing came about four weeks after the license arrived.

The more I see photos of that Ruger...............

Paperwork in the FFL's mailbox today. Mailed in on May 18 - fairly quick. Will pick it up tomorrow.

They used to hang them everywhere on Navy ships circa WWII and try to keep those pesky enemy fighters away.

Form 3 complete and gun received at my FFL - now onto the form 4 - signature, $$, and the wait.

Hot stuff - literally.

Thanks for the replies. According to the shipper, he has spoken to the ATF clerk handling this actual transfer. I guess the clerk will get a "round tuit."

I'm at 90+ days waiting for BATFE to approve a transfer of an SBS from the selling dealer to my local dealer. Then, of course the next wait after I get my form signed and fee paid.

I've got an unfired 1966 Colt DS in the box with a JC Penney hang tag - yes, they sold guns back in the time (blue, un-shrouded ejector rod). I'm hanging on to it in hopes of using it as a trade against a Colt DS that is marked from the NY State Police - it would have NYST on the back strap.

Good discussion.

Check Bud's for trade ins - usually well priced.

Post up your range results.

Any ranges nearby where you could rent each gun (or similar) and shoot them the same day and make your decision from a personal side by side comparison?

When you're done soaking it, use Flitz (sparingly) to get some minor rubs and scratches out.

CLEO gets courtesy copy. Turn around time, for my C&R, was about two months.
