  1. One more time... I HATE DUI checkpoints. I don't blame the rank and file that have to implement them. It's about basic courtesy to me. Those cops didn't set out to violate anybody's rights. Simple, harmless request met with confrontation. My dad would have slapped the taste out of my mouth for acting that way. Maybe I was just raised to be a sheep.

Well put, after reading your comments here you may very well be. That is ok, the world needs sheep too! Just hope your not in politics!
  2. That may be a perfectly workable solution and if the zombie hordes ever attack I may want to try this but other than that I I just don't think I want to take an FN-FAL magazine that I've worked over with a Dremel tool and then stick it in a $3,000+ rifle just to save a few bucks on the cost of magazines. ;)

Couldn't agree with you more lol! Sometimes you gotta pay to play. Now fellers, rotate your magazines weekly to keep those springs I check!
  3. Nice bass! Although that body is awfully small for the mouth size. Looks like the area you were fishing is over populated.

Quite possibly, but what you may consider over populated, I call a honey hole;)! Thanks for the pics! I hear em callin me... If I'm having a little luck, I'll stick around for the sunglasses. If you don't see some pics tomorrow, my pride will be hurt! Those pics tell me it's time to step it up! C'mon creek bass!

  4. Don't know if anyone has looked into these, but I no longer worry about storing large quantities. I went with 3 of these rigs(extras for back up/split group scenario):

    http://www.highwaterfilters.com/SP194-Complete-4L-Bag-to-Bag-Water-Purifier-System-p/sp194.htm

Used it thoroughly on our last trip. Will filter a stagnent pool. 1,000,000 gal guarantee. I have seen tank rigs that collect rain water with these filter units(just the filter, not the bags) at the bottom for pour on demand.

Hook it up with this at base camp for your metals, chemicals, and taste:

Then this for quick grab and go ventures out from your supply:

Best part is, you have the ability to set up a mass base camp water supply guaranteed at a million gallons each aside from the carbon on the Katadyn, and aside from the mass holding tank, could all be packaged in a child's backpack quickly for mobility.
  5. "Them claiming they are "pro-gun" liberals is nothing more than them talking out of their collective asses. They have already signed up to make war on the 2A. Too late to jump of the bed now Hoss."

I hope that you are wrong. I try never to associate myself with either party as both are well suited with their own agendas. Typically the agendas of who has the most coin. I think the whole liberal vs conservative classification has confused people even further than they all ready were. When you are forced to side with another group/persons ideals because they meet more of your standards than the other side, you have denied yourself of one of our most fundimental rights. The right to think for yourself, and control your own life. Siding with one party or the other these days still checks off the common goal. Government control/dependence. I hope to see a much stronger 3rd party emerge by 11/2016. One that demands more than Vannila or Chocolate, although as occupied as we currently are on either sides of our line I hardly doubt it.

When will we remember that this is a republic, not a democracy?

  6. I am just now opening my eyes to the world of the M1a's. Never considered one until recently. I have never put one through a bucks eyes(although I did blow ones belly open once), but my tool of choice in the past was always the old reliable model 70 in 30-06. I picked up a double star AR a few years back but was never really impressed enough to take it out for more than a coyote. I did really enjoy the platform. Semi auto isn't a necessity on a hunt because one foul shot could send you home empty handed. SO in short, I have put my scar h up on the trade block recently, and have been more and more interested in the M1A as to me it seems like a semi auto "all a rounder" with a round hairy enough to get any job done, in more of a marksman package than the SCAR. Don't get me wrong, the scar is deadly accurate, efficient, and runs incredibly clean. It is also the easiest rifle to clean I have ever owned. I'm reading though that guys are having no issues with match grade m1a's to go out 300+ yards and be secure in where it will end up. Would you say the FDE could be built for $5k?
  7. I know this obviously a m1a/m14 platform rifle optimized for reaching out and touching, but from the outside, what do you think it cost to build? Obviously not knowing its true parts composure, just exterior aesthetics alone make an educated guess? How much do you think a man would go into the hole trying to assemble one like this, and how would YOU do it if given an approximate budget? I want to take a match load through a deers right eye, and out the left at 200yds. And know exactly where I was going to put it before I made it happen. Just a little background, I have been scoping deer rifles for as long as I can remember life, and have never taken a headshot. Nor had the confidence to try.

  8. My problem is that with the ir/white feature there is a lock bearing ring that I can't figure out how to get off. Also, didn't want the switch button(standard base) to get any paint. Would be pretty straight forward if not for that pressure ring for the ir/white selector. It is the grooved area on the waist of the head as seen below. To change modes, you push forward on that ring toward the lens, and rotate 180 degrees and when you release pressure it locks back down.

  9. On second thought anybody know of an EXCELLENT dura coat man? I have a black SCARH I would love to have a smoke grey tiger stripe applied to kinda like this(but better):

Here's a dura coat SCAR I saw online, I would want the colors mentioned above in a tiger patter and I would want much better results:

  10. I have a Surefire 620v in the gear classifieds for trade. Ideally I would like to swap across for the exact same light, only in black, which got me thinking... Can I completely take apart the flashlight and refinish the metal parts? I was thinking of useing a black spray that hardens to a matte rubber. The mil would not be thicker than a med spray paint coat. I would want to feel confident that I could completely disassemble the light first though, so that I could accurately take off all moving joints(threads, etc). Where could I find info on how to do so? Thanks in advance!
  11. gives me an idea as to marking the pumpkins I am taking for targets Thursday.

Isn't there some law outlawing over riding the Constitution with treaties?

And don't doubt registration will happen, as will the order to turn them all in.  Not in my life  or yours but by our future great grandchildren's lifetimes. It is too late to turn this shit around.

In a Republic, such as the United States it was supposed to be considered treason to modify the constitution at all.
  12. Goggles used to be a big part of my former line of work. I never got use to them. I've tried every type of anti fog solution known to man. It doesn't matter once you start sweating. I'd rather take the risk of eye damage than a loss of situational awareness, so the goggles didnt last long. I strictly used M-frames and had great success with those. Still had issues with ambient stuff floating in the after a dust up from aircraft or things blowing up, but nothing that couldn't be handled in exchange for not wearing goggles. I had a few buddies that had the goggles with the fans in them. They were pretty darn cool, but still cumbersome, and I hate the feeling of having my nose pinched.

my thoughts exactly. i find myself concentrating more on the goggles than my focus. to the ones that find them not to be uncomfortable my nose and upper brow is jealous.

  13. I ended up having to go with some prescription Ray Ban Aviators due to my eyes being so bad. The Oakleys had too much curve for my prescription. I got the polarized, high contrast version lenses and man do they work! I can actually feel my facial muscles relax even under bright light when I'm wearing these things. The high contrast lenses aren't the best if you want the highest color accuracy because everything does have a yellowish tint to it but they make things so sharp and clear I think they're well worth it. I will say that the Ray Bans aren't probably meant for high impact activities since they have all metal frames and the Oakleys have the plastic but they are a timeless design that look good on many types of faces. I do know that the Oakleys have interchangable lenses that just snap in, so if want to change frames or lenses you can very easily.

That was the info I just got from LensCrafters. Curve is too drastic. In the winter I find I wear my glasses more. Summer is coming soon, and if I were able to get my script covered in some useful(not vanity but not unsightly) sunglasses I could give my eyes a rest... 21 years in contacts is starting to take its toll.
  14. 2nd amendment. It is already right. One of the pillars of our constitution, and of incredible importance of the south where my daughters will have no boundary in terms of preserving our family's food, water source, and protection. I will not do away with the valuable traditions I have taught.

Sorry a lot of emotion lately. Rats at the feeder bar for this "Disarm America Phase 2 Agenda" enough.
  15. I would like to note That bill and I had a talk over my dining room table when he used myself and my neighbors as a "home base" if you will in lil ol Murfreesboro TN. He seemed very inspired, a much needed mentality when he first hit the trail. Since then I have seen many disappointments on bills signed simply due to privacy invasion and thick TN politics. Now you skate in on a party looking to get back to a true self government for the people, by the people, and you don't make a FIRM stand, for people who voted you in to put Tennessee 1st.
