I have a friend that received the wrong ammo. He has 100 or 120 rounds and is looking to trade. He 338 Federal. Let me know if you have any information.

.338 federal is generally for AR-10's. Its a necked up .308 case as far as I know and its loaded hotter. DPMS has rifles chambered for it. We talking about the same thing here?

Who made it and what bullet is loaded in the case? The caliber should be headstamped on the case head. Thats the end where the primer is located.

.338 RCM is made by Ruger/hornady marriage. Offhand, I don't know much about it. But it looks like it was designed to compete against the other short mags in bolt guns. I don't even know if its rimmed or rimless.
