News about Taurus PT709?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone (particular the dealers) know anything about the new Taurus PT709? I saw it on the cover of a magazine this weekend, but the article didn't give the dimensions. I am curious if it is smaller than the Kahr PM9. I've read internet posts comparing it to the Kel-Tecs, but no one seems to know the dimensions.

After my last call to taurus' customer service i wont buy another one. I would look at the keltec. i have a pf9 and it is plenty thin and its made over here. I dont have any experience with car but i haven't heard anything bad about them.

That must have just gone up in the last 24 to 48 hours. I even did a search on their website, but it didn't come up. Nevertheless, thanks for pointing it out. It still appears that it will be larger than the Kahr PM9. At 6" in length, I don't understand why the internet posts I've seen compare it to the Kel-Tec .38s. Oh well, sounds like I don't need to mess with a Taurus anyway.

For every person who slams Taurus you'll find 10 who swear by them.

I was one of those that swore by them. Then i had to call CS. Have bought 3 but will never buy another.

I wonder if they ment DAO

No it's SA/DA and it's a great little gun. It should be compared to the walther PPS not a keltec it's .8 inches wide making it super concealable. I own 5 Taurus pistols and have put over 500 rds through them not counting the 709 and have yet to have a problem. For those of you considering a keltec, if you don't mind a crappy finish, and a DAO trigger then you got your gun. Me? I like the way the 709 feels they took the time to finish the burs off the metal and the SA trigger plus low recoil make for a quicker second shot. Now, as to Customer Service I have no experience with them. It's a trade off in my opinion, I paid almost half the price of a PPS for the 709 599 vs 325
