  1. (ADMIN-IF I AM VIOLATING SOME RULE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I am just looking for opinions on this product from some of the veteran gun owners on this site)

I shared this last week and it got removed. Not sure why. I asked "support" for assistance, but got no response. Now, I am thinking maybe I just didn't hit the "POST" button.
I wanted to get some feedback on a product that will be available in January that you can pre-order now.
It's a grip set for 1911's and it screws in (like all the rest, of course) but has an additional feature of creating a rail for a laser/light. It's not a clip on, it actually screws together under the slide also.
My Springfield Milspec doesn't have a rail , and I am considering getting one of these. ($49 ain't too bad a price)

  2. Best of luck. I drew that hunt once and just went home after seeing the set up. If I were you, I would just go as far from the crowd as possible.

Thats exactly my plan. Just wondering who knew where the "horde" would go to, if there is a prominent area.

I figure that I will travel in the fewest amount of tire tracks that I see. The path least traveled untuil there's very few tire ruts. Then, i'll get out and hoof it for quite a ways...

  3. I have a quota hunt in Chuck Swan State Forest today and tomorrow.. I couldn't get out today. Looking for hunters experienced in this park. Is there any advice that someone could give regarding good areas to set up?

I will not be using a tree stand. Will be either moving or setting up a nice overlook spot somewhere.
Park contact person informed me that there will be @100 vehicles in line when gates open at 6am. Sun comes up a little after 7, and I'd like to have an idea of where to head.

    Open for suggestions.

    30-06 if you're wondering..

  4. if you go to edit the first post in the thread, it should allow you to edit both the title and the tag(ie for sale, for trade, sold)

    is that what you tried?

i looked for that bu tthere is no edit button, just Topic Moderation, but then it gives me an error message when i try to change the title to SOLD

  5. just got my benefactor, so if this was asked before, i apologize. i sent to Support messages yesterday, and this morning I saw the topic where it says to NOT use those. (The option should be removed then, imno)

I posted a Firearm Listing, but can't edit topic to "sold", nor can I edit it. Do i need to wait for my account to change or something?

  6. thanks everyone for the suggestions. I have read quite a few, and look forward to geting into the following: Lights Out, Goin Home Series. Holding their Own series" and 299 Days"

I would like to add the following:

Dog Stars-Peter Heller (story of a pilot and his roughneck neighbor surving after a plague type scenaio)

The Silencer - Bob Zerfing (a UN assisted takeover of the US)

As for my favorites- The Road is incredibly moving, especially if you have a young son. One Second After is brutally detailed and most realistic. I am a huge fan of Rawles, so his whole series is awesome and gives great advice along the way. Patriots  was the best by far.

  7. good episode except for the BS about the walkers falling through the ceiling/roof. i understand that the water rot/helicopter had weakened it. If they had all moved to the middle and it was one big collapse, it would have been okay. The issue is the walkers falling through weak points all over the roof suddenly. They were obviously wandering around up there for some time. none of them stepped on those weak spots until this moment?

other than that, hard to believe that any of them would just wander out in the woods with someone as sketchy as that. they've all seen enough to know better.

looks like it will be an interesting year though. i agree that the animal sickness is going to be a big issue in the future episodes.
