  1. I usually dealt with either Leo or an older gent named Kelly....he was really nice too. Kelly went on to work at the other gun shop in Morristown, Smoky Mountain Outfitters....but I'm not sure if he still works there or not. The last couple times I went in there I didn't see him. I think I remember Jim.....he was an older tall skinny fellow with glasses? He was nice, but Leo gave me better deals:cool: And Bill......was he the heavier guy with the awesome black GTO? I really miss going in there.....Leo always had a new gun he would take out and show me. Now that I am older and have a 3 year old, I don't get to go shooting (or buy more guns) like I used to. I'll keep that Tazwell gun shop in mind though if I'm ever in the market for a new gun;) The guys at Smoky Mountain Outfitters are pretty cool too I have to say. I bought a new Taurus Multialloy .38 there when I had my last one stolen:mad: and they let me load it and put it on before I left the shop.

  2. Hey everyone.....I was just wondering if any of you used to frequent Leo's Sporting Goods in Morristown? I bought quite a few guns from Leo and used to just go in there just to chat with him too. Leo is a great guy and his shop is now closed. I heard the feds closed him down for something....not sure on the details. I'd love to say hello to him if I knew where to find him. Anybody know anything?

  3. Model 94 Winchester lever action .22 and a 1940's model Colt Woodsman. I didn't get rid of these by choice. My home burned down in '95 and I lost several guns along with these two They were both given to me by my dad, who passed away a few years ago. My dad taught me how to shoot at four years old with that .22 Winchester, and the Woodsman was in perfect beautiful condition and was so much fun to shoot. Sure wish I had those today:(

  4. My wife is a member but she rarely posts. I'm glad to see more females here! I hold a firm belief that if more women learn the martial art of firearms, there would be less women victims!

I hope that you and all the women that are a part of our little community post up more often!

not only do your posts bring a different viewpoint to the conversation, but they induce otherwise rowdy folks to calm down

(that was a potshot at myself..I can't help it, I'm the only one I can pick on without fear of getting a black eye out of the deal..)

Absolutely!!! More women need to stand up, quit being helpless victims, and learn how to use an Equalizer!!! And please, if you are a woman and are going to take the handgun permit class, know your weapon and how to load and handle it!!!

When I took my handgun permit class there were two other women there. When we went to the range for the shooting part of the class, they didn't even know how to load their guns! One of them had a gun so big she could hardly hold it up! The instructor let the women go first and asked for three men to volunteer to help each of us load our guns. One guy came up to me and I told him I didn't need his help, thanks anyway. The other two women definitely needed help and when they shot, they shot very slowly and very badly! My turn came up and I loaded and emptied my mag quickly into the target without a problem, or help from a man....and if I must say so myself, a nice grouping too;) The really sad part of this story is the instructor passed those other two women! They should not have passed until they showed that they could handle those guns all by themselves.

Anyway, the main point I'm trying to make here is this - Women....please don't be helpless targets and/or victims!!! More women definitely need to learn how to shoot and get a permit to carry! Please take my advice though and select a weapon that feels good in your hand, is light enough to be comfortable to carry (on your body, not in your purse!!!!) and last but certainly not least, get familiar with handling, loading and shooting it. It's kind of like insurance.....you might not ever need it, but if you do need it, you will be very glad you had it!

  5. Hello!

I am a new female member here and I was just wondering how many other members are women? It is hard for me to meet other females that are interested in guns/shooting/outdoors, second ammendment issues, etc. I would love to meet some other like minded women :P

  6. Hello Everyone!

My name is Tabby. I live in East TN near Morristown. I am a mother and an avid outdoorsman.....although my arthritis is getting worse and unfortunately keeping me from doing many of the things I used to be able to do  I have been shooting guns since I was four years old. My dad taught me how to shoot with a 22 lever action Winchester.....he kneeled on the ground and let me stand behind him and rest the gun barrel on his shoulder! He taught me how to hunt and fish and love, respect, and appreciate the great outdoors. He also taught me to protect myself and my family. My dad is gone now, but I hope to teach my son (he's 3 yrs. old) all the things my father taught me. Last but not least, I believe in our right as honest and law abiding citizens to keep and bear arms!!!
