  1. Beretta sucked for me. Had to pay shipping on brand new NEOS to one of their contracted service centers in Bama, which told me all they did was send that model to Beretta in MD anyway. And, it took them 5 weeks to NOT fix it too.

Maybe have changed policy in last couple years, dunno, seems I saw someone here rave about their good service and free call tag shipping.

    - OS

I was told the same thing about shipping my NEOS ... luckily Sportsman's Warehouse picked up the tab of shipping for me.  After I got off the phone with Beretta I checked with Sportsmans and they said they would handle everything.  I left the gun with them and after my NEOS took two trips to Beretta, they shipped back a brand new Neos to Sportsmans for me. (They didn't fix it the first time back).

Mine wasn't brand new but developed a problem with light primer strikes after 500-1000 rounds.

I did have to pay TICS fee, but that was it.  So Kudos to Sportsmans, meh to Beretta service for me.

  2. When Glenn woke up on the walkway there were folding chairs leaning against the door behind him. They were gone when he went thru the door. Continuity was off the whole episode.

Hope the story line doesn't get bogged down with them searching the woods for each other.

Maybe they can find a farm to hang out for the season while they all search the woods all season, lol.

All kidding aside, I am enjoying the show.

  3. I just got a couple tomahawks about 6 months ago, and I suck at throwing them, but man it is a BLAST learning.

Whenever I do get a good stick there's just nothing like that *THWUMP* sound the hawk makes going into the tree stump I throw at.

(Then again I hear plenty of the *KLINK CLANK* miss sounds too).

I'd say that's some mighty fine archery for being new to it.

  4. What I don't understand on those signs is the number of deaths for LAST year that they show keeps rising. They keep bumping it to greater than this year. What's up with that? How do people keep dying LAST year??

I think the "last year" numbers are saying "up to this date" here is the count from last year. It's comparing this years current deaths to last years through the same time.

I.e on oct 25 the sign shows deaths from 1/1/2012 to 10/25/12
And it shows total from 1/1/2013 to 10/25/2013

Edit: I'm slow, y'all beat me to it.
  5. I just purchased a stainless ruger gp 100 .357 4" and I have been considering doing the spring kit / polish internals.  I'm really happy with the way the trigger is out of the box though, so I'm not sure I actually will mess with it any time soon.  I am glad to know it makes a noticeable difference however if I ever do the mods.

  6. Oh yeah! I was very happy. My wife now things a HCP is a magic "get out of ticket" card.

Even if he had written me the ticket, he was professional and polite. Officers get a hard time when experiences are bad - I figured people need to know that at least some of them are doing things right!

    Thank you for sharing.
  7. I built my first lower a little over a year ago, and then quickly slapped an upper on it.  Then about a month ago I put an Aimpoint PRO on it.  It is hands down my favorite rifle.

Only reason I haven't gotten any more EBRs to help cure my BRD is lack of $$.  It costs enough just to feed the one I have!  (I've started getting into reloading, but I haven't delved into .223 yet ... I'm learning to load .45/9mm first - next will be .223/5.56).

Also, I have to work on an acute case of Glockitis .... it won't be cured any time soon.

  8. I re-watched the scene after reading some internet chatter.  We do know that she came out of the cellblock with the little (Lizzie) kids, I stopped and looked to see that Judith was secured into the baby carrier.  As we know, Rick and Carl found the carrier in a bloody mess, but no Judith.  The assumed she was gone by Walkers.

Problem, Judith was secured, a Walker is unable to undo the straps.  The locking mechanism was undone.

Before Darryl took out the M-60 tank with a grenade, the main gun fired towards Tyress who was running away.  I stopped the action, Tyress was running and his M-1 carbine was slung over his back.  When I carried the M-16 while in training or in theater, and needed my hands free, I slung my weapon across my back.  Thus, IMHO, Tyress retreated with Judith

Aha!  Also,  Tyrese was the last one on camera with the kids ... they were the ones that saved his butt.

  9. And likely my final conclusion will be "what can I carry that I feel safest with, deploy the most rapidly, and inop the bad guy hopefully in the most mild manner possible". :) So Im thinking a fully auto, heat seeking, 45 acp AR that weighs 12 ounces loaded, conceals in my belt, has an auto/selective fire option, and I can stagger the mag with .308, .45acp, .357 sig, .10mm, and 45-70 gvt...... Anyone have one of those for sale?

You better buy 2 of these if you find them so you can have a backup too! :)

  10. I picked up a P226 tac ops this summer and I love it.  Sadly, I have not had the time to really get fully acquainted with my P226, so as of this moment I shoot my glocks better.  But this is most definitely a ME problem, and not a gun problem.  (I've spent WAYYY more time dry firing/shooting my glocks).

Last time at the range I loaded several mags with a random mix of snap caps and live ammo to try to break my habit of jerking the trigger / reacting to the recoil.  At the end of this practice session I loaded a full 20 round mag and unloaded on some reactive targets and man was it fun.

My whole point is that sigs are awesome guns, and I'm sure you will have lot of fun with it, and you can trust your life to it.  For my next sig I'm looking to get a P220 in .45.

  11. Tom baker is the only Dr who for me but I am warming up to some of this new stuff, rose, river, & Clara. But I miss Lela & K9

I used to watch all the reruns late at night on PBS growing up. Tom Baker was always my favorite.

The new stuff is on my to watch list, and I've seen a few eps already. I just don't seem to have as much time for tv now that I'm a grown up and have to work and stuff.
  12. Reticle becomes larger and clearer, however it still covers MOA on the target.

This is good to know ... I just picked up an Aimpoint PRO, and I've only gotten to stretch it out to about 75 yds (Think my optic is a 2MOA dot, I would have to look just to verify).  Don't have a magnifier yet, and don't know if I will get one.  Still, good info that I was unaware of and will keep in mind for the future.
