  1. Easiest way to get stuff from the laptop to the TV is just a straight HDMI and screen share. Certain TVs can also play certain files from USB thumb drives. Depending on how advanced it is it might be able to get it from the local network but I haven't delved into that yet.

As for making sure everyone can watch what they want to, what I did was had everyone write down their #1 show they don't want to miss and made sure we could get it online somehow...legally that is, I already know it's all available otherwise.

Yeah I learned this today, oh well. I am going to activate the free trials of hulu and netflix this weekend. I jsut can't believe I can "beam" something from my phone to my tv but not my laptop.

  2. I am going to follow this thread, we just got our first smart tv yesterday and I am trying to figure just what I bought. It has a lot of apps and connects to the wireless network in the house but I can't figure out how to get stuff from the laptop to the tv lol. I want to loose Dish but i want to make sure everyone can watch what they want.

  3. The amount of money saved by Americans on food and other goods that can be directly attributed to Walmart dwarfs the amount of money provided to the poor in the form of both Welfare and the EIC. Here are a couple of articles that speak to

    Thank you for posting.

  4. I was in a Wal Mart today in a near by city, not the one here, as I also had to go to Lowes. I did a check at the ammo counter for, of all things, .380 for the Mrs., none to be found. The guy working back there asked if I was finding what I needed and we started to talk when I saw one lonely box of CCI. I chuckled and commented on it. He asked if I needed some and I said no that I would leave it for the next guy. He said "don't worry, we have a new plan that is working well, and we have quite a bit." I was pretty impressed with what they are doing, It is not what is being decribed in this thread, but is very clever to weed out the "same ole loosers", his words, not mine. All of this is to say that I also believe that Wally is fed up with the bad press they are recieving as far as being seen as part of the cycle of reselling.

  5. I heard two guys talking at my local Wally. Seems the government is talking of a ban on evil black dairy products and high capacity egg magazines. There is already a shortage here of the cartons of 2 dozen eggs, all the government will let us have is the 1 dozen. Better buy up all you can get! We will all be paying double on grocerieslist.com

  6. I'm a reformed Walmart hater. I used to constantly bag on them about their business practices and was under the false impression that they increased poverty. I was then presented with a few facts and realized that Walmart has done far more to raise the standard of living of those at the lower end of the socioeconomic scale than any government welfare program ever thought about doing. By keeping prices as low as they do, they allow many folks to have goods and conveniences that would be otherwise be completely out of their reach. I generally prefer to shop at Target but I know that Walmart benefits me as well by forcing Target to stay competitive. So thank you Walmart for making my life better.

I would be interested in where you got this info. I would like to read it as well.
