I killed 2 garter snakes last Thursday in the yard - the first met it's end under my lawn mower, I didn't know until after I was past. The second decided to try and attack the business end of my weedeater at the base of one of the tress in my yard. Again - not much I can do by the time I realize he's trying to strike. I know it's technically "illegal" to kill them, if I find one in my house and I am not 100% positive it's non-venomous, it's going to be DEAD before I attempt to get close enough to be bitten.

Someone come whoop me... Baconitus My Brute

I went there about 9:30 last night - got a box of 9mm, box of 38+p, and bulk pack of 22 - I saw 4 or 5 boxes of 9mm left, but otherwise bare. I was really hoping ofr .380 - probably have better luck finding a unicorn hiding in the shower in the morning whistling the Irish Spring song.
-
Already giving him a grade and not even the end of his first semester... tsk, tsk.
-
Defensive rounds or not - I passed on the $1/rd. .380 ammo when I was there Thursday afternoon...
-
is +/- $1/rd. the going rate nowadays... when you can find it?
-
No specific help, but I sometimes zoom in on the sat images on google maps (or even zillow) to follow waterways and see if they might be passable. Good luck!

Correct. Signs are there to inform everyone without having to personally inform every person who walks through the door. Signs or not - when a representative of a building's owner/operator asks you to leave (carrying or not) you have been PERSONALLY informed of their wishes and any sign is irrelevant to you, regardless of what it says - because the verbal personal request trumps it every time. Someone said it earlier - *what* is said to you is what is important here... So if you are unsure of what they are asking you to do, by all means politely ask them to clarify exactly what they are requesting you to do. This clarification is also beneficial if you feel someone was out of line, and will help you better explain your case if needed to the authorities, or the building owners, etc.
-
I guess I'm confused... legal or not, of the owner/operator/person in charge of a business makes it clear to you personally that you are not welcome to carry there - logic would tell me that request stands until such point as they personally inform you otherwise, or the building is posted otherwise. So are you just asking if it's legal to ignore that personal request the next time you visit?

See how easy that was? Glad your money is safe, and you didn't have to hassle with changing banks.

The only place the canoe will go with the motor on it will be the neighborhood private lake down the street, so I;m not gonna register it just for that.
-
I actually picked it up off CraigsList - Canoe, 2 paddles, several tie down straps, the foam pads for loading it on top of the truck, a hitch mounted swivel carrier (like this) and a bag to put the carrier stuff and straps in... For $210
-
Yeah, head away from neighborhoods and find people who have room on their property to accumulate random stuff for the last 20 years then feel the need to get rid of it Not to mention it's a great excuse to get out and do some driving in the country on a nice day.
-
Wanna know the secret to that? Generally speaking - the nicer the house, the crappier the stuff (or the more they think their crap is worth). The best stuff I generally find at houses that aren't the biggest or nicest. Especially if they have an old shed or barn or a musty full basement they use for storage. Now that's not always the way it goes, but my experience has been that it works out that way. As a matter of fact, I found a little 70cc chinese ATV for $200 I need to call about tomorrow and see if he still has it... I might just pick that up to add to the fleet

I actually picked up a 12.5' 3 seater canoe last spring that I've been taking the kids out in, and is what the motor will go on. Unfortunately - the canoe's wide flat bottom makes for miserable paddling by myself, and even worse when I want to try and fish. So the kayak is for me, and I hope to start hitting the Duck soon, and some smaller streams as well.

Since these are pretty much guns/outdoor related, I thought I would share... 1. Picked up an Emotion Mojo Angler sit-on kayak at a yard sale for $150. It's never been in the water - brand spankin' new (mustard color from the website I believe). I've been wanting one for a while for solo fishing trips - and for this price, I couldn't turn it down emotion mojo angler - Google Product Search Emotion Kayaks Mojo Angler 2. Picked up a trolling motor at another yard sale, $15... ancient - but it works Shoudl be perfect for taking the kids out on the local neighborhood lake for a little fishing. 3. I'm coaching my son's 4-5yr Soccer team, and we won our 11am game and had a superb time despite the heat (85+) 4. Cleaned out the attic today, found my Spyderco Tri-angle Sharpmaker knife sharpening kit I haven't seen in probably 10 years 5. Also cleaning out the attic and found the following ammo: -box of .380 -box of 12 ga. field load -box of 20 ga. field load -box and a bag of random .22 ammo 6. Also cleaning out the attic and found about $30 worth of ultralight lures - including a couple of Crickhoppers in varying colors 7. Mom and dad came over for dinner, and dad whips out my Beretta Airlight folder, saying he had lost knife and had found it in his dresser drawer (I haven't seen this in years either - now I know why). I promptly reclaimed it since he said it was too large for him to carry, and instead dug out a Buck triple blade folder, sharpened it up with the Spyderco kit, and he was happy with the swap I still have about half a dozen boxes I need to go through that I am sure would add to the list, but that will have to wait until tomorrow - I'm beat.

My daughter has the pink Clip, my son has the black, and I think I have another pink one floating around somewhere... My wife and I both have older M240's... I'm too impatient to wait for things to charge, and the M240 runs on a single AAA (or maybe it is an A?) battery. Just pop one in and keep rocking out. Yes - it's physically a little bigger, but I use it mainly for yard work, etc... not that big of a deal.

I've been buying Sansa's off Woot : One Day, One Deal (SM) when they come up - usually $13-17 each. I am a BIG fan of the Sansa's - I have several models in the house right now, 3 clips and a few other models. Yes - most of the Woot ones are refurbs, but I haven't had a single one show up bad. I think the FM tuner is pretty much standard on all of them. The Clip is a good choice - but do some pricing shopping, they are getting cheaper and cheaper. Don't get sucked into the ipod nonsense - you're paying for a name. Especially with the smaller players, Sansa beats them on price AND features.
-
You've had 2+ weeks... how much time do you need?
-
You better not be paying $40-50 for a Sansa 2gb player... The last 4 or 5 of them I've bought were all under $20 each. But yes - just get an input cable and you're ready to rock.
-
So you actually considered calling the TV station, before you even took the time to speak to someone face to face in the actual branch? You should probably give up right now.
-
No, that is not "how this bank works". If there is a local branch GO THERE and sit down and talk to the BRANCH MANAGER. It is their JOB to resolve issues like this. Period. End of story.
