  1. I keep holding out hope that Chatanooga's program may re -start or be picked up by another club.... wishful thinking? That State Match was realy good. But there is oppertunity right there for some Smart club to contact folks about what it takes to get a program going. People just wanting a place to shoot.
  2. No other chapters. But, I will help any way I can if another range wants to start up Silhouette. Best case would be 3 clubs each once a month so we can shoot alot. TN needs more NRA matches not just in east Tn.

  4. At Jackson, Tn Yes NRA Rules 1/2 targets and 1/5 targets. YES Iron sights pistols. Just on the same 1/2 scale targets at same distances. .22lr rimfire only. No on Pistol Caliber Cowboy (maybe some day). We have a set of 1/2 scale targets left over from a previous incarnation of Silhouette but they are the "thin targets" so no PCC. rimfire only. For now. Yes, I will make up some sort of Class for every shooter with any type of .22 rimfire. Even if it is not an Official recognized class. All Are welcome. Beginner to expert. Even a hacker like me. I heard about Chattanooga and the hole thing Stinks. Well, I would use stronger words but it's a family forum . You folks put on quite a show for the Tn Championships. For those who don't know it was basically a mini version of the Nationals. And very well done. With the absolute top of the crop type shooters attending. Now we just need five or six more venues in TN hosting Silhouette matches so we can get a traveling schedule for every weekend like up north. I can dream right?
  5. Metallic Silhouette matches at Tennessee Sports foundation Jackson Tn. 3rd Saturdays of month. We are getting Metallic Silhouette matches underway the Third Saturday of Each month in Jackson Tn. We will be having two more of our “Winter Warm up” Clinics and Mini-Matches (20 targets) on February 18th and March 18th. With Full 40 round Matches planned the rest of the year. All are Welcome. We have classes for any type of .22lr firearm including regular NRA type classes and non standard classes to include everyone. (yes AR-type .22lr and Redot equiped will be welcome.) More Info here: http://www.tnsportsfoundation.org/metallic-silhouette.html Check out the video at bottom of linked page for tons of information on Metallic Silhouette!
  6. When I Signed up and created my "Profile" here I did not UN-check the spaces that say Military Yes/No and Law Enforcement Yes/No. It should be NO and NO. Lots of people know who I am. They Know I don't mis-represent who I am. I have a crazy person ( my insane sister) Stalking me and my Family that is making a big deal about this. She will stirr #### up over anything. Apparently she looked deeper into the Profile Section of TNGunowners than I ever did. Some folks have WAYY to much time on thier hands.
  7. O.K. I will admit I am intrigued by 3Gun. I started shooting IDPA and I like it. 3Gun is a next logical step to try out. BUT, I need a shotgun. I am leaning tword a Mossberg 500 . Thoughts? I know .. plastic trigger. Also two related equipment questions. If I wanted to put a sighting system (Irons) on it, what is legal. My regular rifle puts me in an Optics class. And what is a good system to carry Shotgun Ammo for a new guy who needs to learn the skills. I know I can read rule books ect. But I am looking for opinions and practical experience.
  8. Well we finally made the move. Happy to have transplanted from the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts and now reside in a free state!!!!! Jackson Area. So my family and I (we are all shooters) Need recomendations on your local favorites. Best gun stores. Best ranges. I like to reload, so good selections of powders ect. Also I'm an avid small bore Shilhouette shooter. So advise on the ever illusive .22lr ammo would be great. Thanks In advance.
  9. Thank you for all the input. We are actively searching TN properties right now. Amassing a list of favorite places... (fingers crossed to sell my house). And not planning to many business related trips this summer, and clearing our racing schedule. The more I learn about Tn the more I think I will like it! My wife has family, and her ancestors are from down there...... she just laughs and says I'll fit right in.
  10. Good Morning. I'm new to this forum. My name is David S. Mackiernan My family and I are re-locating to Tennessee from Massachusetts. Hopefully this year.... hopefully as soon as possible. I am a Mass- LTC -A unrestricted ( that's Licence to carry high capacity, no restrictions..... it's like winning the lottery in Mass ). Also a C&R ffl. So... I have a few questions. 1. We have not decided on an area of TN. We need to make a few trips, look at houses /farms ect.. Do I need a temporary licence to carry or some sort of non-resident permit? It needs to cover my personal carry. We would be spending a few days at a time in TN. Not just driving through. 2. We are looking into purchasing farm property. Opinions on better parts of the state? I know that's a bit off topic, but any help is nice. Also would like to make our own private gun range for practice and plinking . I have been told to brace myself for culture shock coming from Mass to TN ( in a good way). Personally I can't wait to live in a FREE STATE. Without AW-bans, lists of approved firearms, ect. ect ect. And the Taxes and regulations that are killing my business. Thank you in advance. DSM (hopping to soon be a refugee from Mass...... before my head explodes)
