  1. I called back and "ordered" a G2C.  They said it would be eight (8) weeks, so maybe I'll have it on time for Christmas.

The reset issue on the Curve trigger was not something I was willing to accept.  I'm glad I found that Kirsten Joy Weiss review.  If you short-stroke the trigger, you have to rack the slide to reset the trigger.

  2. I got a voicemail yesterday.  When I called them today, I was given a choice between a G2C (9mm) and Curve w/Laser.  I did not ask how soon I could expect to receive it after I told them my choice.  So, I am doing a little research.

The price for the Curve is higher at Bud's than the G2C, and I was thinking about buying a LCP II.  So, I'm leaning toward the Curve.  But, I know a lot of people have been happy with their PT111s, so that might be the safer choice.

Thoughts?  Anyone have experience with either?

    Thanks

  3. I would definitely be suspicious of "new" tools with no box.  When I worked in retail an old trick was to remove the power tool from the box, put it into a mailbox, and buy the (much cheaper) mailbox (which contained a couple of expensive tools at that point.  It was a frustrating feeling to find empty tool boxes on the mailbox aisle.

  4. I went to BBQ Fest today (Thursday) around noon.  They were not checking tickets, yet.  However, I was "wanded"  thoroughly.  So, I am not sure if the security differed because there were different wand operators, or BBQ Fest wasn't busy and Music Fest had a long line, or if they intentionally made adjustments after Music Fest.

  5. Memphis in May changed their "security" protocol this year for Beale Street Music Fest.  I had already purchased a ticket when I found out about it, so I went anyway.

They now wand entrants before admission.  For future reference, they did not wand below the pelvis.  So, anyone planning to attend keep that in mind if you want to be safe.

For those that are not familiar with BSMF, it is held in Tom Lee Park along the Mississippi River in Memphis.

Bumping because the military aren’t the only ones who have seen the utility of drones in urban engagements.

The article is light on details because the FBI is being a bit tight-lipped about it, but there’s a lot that can be inferred by the information that was provided

Definitely an interesting article...thanks for posting

If you go back and read Matthew 5:38, you will see that Jesus is bringing interpretation of that Old Testament principle in verse 39.

I found the explanation Matt Terhune provided at a men's Bible study a few years back quite helpful in understanding that verse.  If you are interested in the details, you can go to about 17:00 at the link below.  The summary is that the behavior described in verse 39 is an insult.  Jesus is not talking about not defending yourself or your family from an attack but about not retaliating.  The overall context is about how to respond to mistreatment.  Trying to make it about not stopping an attack is taking the verse out of context.

This all cinches it. I will just keep mine. I have extra mags and actually an extra used slide for it. It makes a good under the seat gun anyway.

Glad we could help settle it for you.  I was quite conflicted and wonder if I'll end up regretting that I didn't just keep mine.

Yikes. Giving you a new G2 should be a quick turn around. I bet they came up with some "fix" to avoid losing money. And they are in no hurry to get them done.

Based on my conversation with them, it sounded like there is a backlog in the inspection process.  The explanation was that they would determine if it could be fixed or if it had to be replaced.

They have had mine for 5 months. The status web site does not work and they won't return calls or emails.

I am disheartened to hear they have had yours for that long.  At least I was able to talk to someone on the phone (though the hold was about twenty minutes).

  10. Called this evening since it has been over six (6) weeks, and the website still doesn't acknowledge a status on it.  They admitted to receiving it, but they haven't even gotten around to inspecting it, yet.  And, they would not give me even a rough estimate regarding time frame.

  11. I saw some G1 MilPros sold at auction with a description that I inferred to indicate had been repaired.  So, I wonder if a repair was developed since hipower returned his.  I returned a 24/7 in late January, and I received a letter indicating they have received it.  When I try to check their website for a status, I get a message saying my sn and/or zip code was invalid.

I really don't want a MilPro, but I'd have enough issues with mine (and the trigger pull was VERY long) so I decided to return it.  I feel like I'm playing "Let's Make a Deal".  I'll take door #2, please.

No, he was armed with a shotgun. He dropped it when she shot him. She continued to fire as he came after her. She knew the gun was empty when he took it.

These two women obviously did a good job. They just didn’t have the proper tools to end this quickly.

I saw the shotgun at the beginning.  I wasn't counting shots, so I did not realize her gun was empty by the time the robber reappears and confronts the mother.  Glad it ended fairly well.
