1. Never heard of ATI before I bought one of their uppers on a black friday special. Nobody on their forum section on the AR15 forums could tell me who made the bolt carrier group or specs on it.

Which probably explains why I had never heard of them.

    How was the quality?

  2. Have any of you guys handled these plastic lowers from ATI?

I want to start a new build, a super light pistol.

The price is realy what got me interested but being from that part of NY i think it would be cool to have one marked

    Rochester NY.

    Are they any good?

I think i seen them at the last gun show for around sixty bucks.

Are there any other alternatives for that cheap?

  3. other peolpe probably already suggersted walther p22. I taught two of my friends five year old sons with one and the grip size is perfect for children.

my buddy also had his six year old girl shooting his and it was perfect for an intro to handguns.

  4. Hey any of you all go to the Antiques Road show in knoxville today? My wife and I went today, she won some tickets on the internet.

There was alot of people carrying rifle cases, and I was wondering if any one here had an appraisal done.

  5. Hey all. We have been in  TN for about two weeks now. And finnaly had some time today to check out coal creek armory. It was my first time at an indoor shooting range. And it was a realy good time. The employees were all friendly and did a good job of explaining the rules of the range. The store had a great selection of accesoris.

It was realy different shooting so close to other peolpe, being used to large outdoor facilities but it felt safe and other shooters were very curteous.

Ive read some thing s about CCA that didnt sound so good, so maybe i just caught them on a good day but i will definetly give them my business again.

One thing i would say is they could realy use some more lighting and better ventilation.

On another note. I had to have my fingerprints done for my new job and they sent me to Gunnys in maryville. the guy there said all amunition shot on the range had to be brass case . No steel cases.

what difference does that make? do they just want to keep the brass or are they trying to sell theyre more expensive brass stuff?

    Just curios.

  6. Can tell you that you'll need to go by a state full service center to do it, not just any county DMV office,  and the only one in Knox County is the Strawberry Plains office, and you do NOT want to go there (long wait).

Even the gal at one of the Knoxville DMV satellite offices recommended I go to Maryville (Blount Co.)  or Clinton (Anderson Co.).

I went to the Maryville one, took about 45min to renew mine two weeks ago.

I assume you've got current DOT medical card.

If not, walk-in clinic in short West Knox does it for $55:

  10. Hi hector, its good to see another out of stater. There are some friendly people here.

Welcome hektor. I got your pm. Oregon? Where?

I'm thinking of retiring in Spokane, Wa. I like winters. 'Specially when I'm retired and don't have to get up and go out to work.

Why anyone would leave the warm weather of TN for snow i cant understand. Spokane is a very nice town, though

  11. Well, A day of boredom led to a small project. Ive never been a fan of how the chromed bolt carriers on chinese AKs look. I used some rustoleum highheat engine paint to change the look. So far it seems like it turned out well. Yesterday i painted, then baked the carrier in the oven at 550. The directions said 600 but 550 was the highest my oven can go. after letting it cure over night i ran thirty rounds thru it today then cleaned it. the paint is holding up well so far.010_zps4eb29523.jpg009_zps69b7f7d0.jpg
