  1. Hmm, talk about random things you find when you check the forums for the first time in a year... But you do have a PM to read at your convenience. Lucky for me it seems... You seem to be looking for someone with roughly my qualifications and I happen to be looking to move home to TN after three years in Yankee hell.

  2. I bought my 9mm P250 last year, and the trigger is around 5.5lbs right now. Mine started out kind of rough and closer to 6 or 6.5lbs for pull, but after about 500-600 rounds it smoothed out and qualified for broken in. I'd have to check my other computer, but I think I've put about 4500 rounds through it since, and the trigger has gotten much smoother with use. The compact shoots a bit low and right, but it's dead on with the full size barrel I picked up for it.

Now, if Sig would only bother with making a .22LR kit for it...

  3. I have one. Get the short reset trigger from Sig and have it installed by your local Sig Armorer/Gunsmith. The long reset travel on the standard trigger can be annoying for most people. I don't mind it, but I like the feel on the short better. Otherwise, I've got no complaints. Accuracy and reliability are the same as any other Sig as far as I've seen. It is a true DAO, which is not for everyone. I think Coal Creek or Gunny's had a rental P250 in 9mm, it'd be worth spending the $20 or so to take it for a test drive if you're on the fence.

  4. Johnson City is more east'er than you are. If they hear that you're trying to muscle in on their east'er'ness... it could get ugly.

Nah, you want East Side power, we'll go find somebody from Sugar Creek or Trade, TN to show you how it's done. Mountain City will do in a pinch though.

  5. No, Sig only ships one mag with new pistols now. If memory serves, they started doing that around the beginning of last year. Could be wrong, maybe someone who remembers for certain will come by and clarify. I just know when I bought my P250, I got one mag and it took about a month to get two more mags for it.

I got that phone call from Sig a couple of months back, but didn't really need anything for the P250 at the time. Might have to call them back and see what's in stock now.

  6. Alright, I've put it on my calendar for 7:30pm at Knights on the 14th. Hopefully we can get a reasonably accurate headcount beforehand so they can shove some tables together for us that night. If people want to bring spouses/significant others, I say the more the merrier.

They do have 40 beers on tap, and I've only tried about 25 of them thus far, so I might end up leaving my sidearm at home in the name of satisfying my taste buds.

  7. Not sure if I'll be able to make it, but some restaurants that come to mind are El Torito's(mexican), Johnny Bruscos(pizza) and Crazy Tomato(italian). I'm really only familiar with the JC area though.

The Tomato's had a non-compliant sign up behind the register for as long as I can remember. I'd expect them to go ahead and post since they've had that one up for so long.

  8. Is any attempt going to be made to find out if the restaurant that is chosen plans on posting or not?

That might be prudent I suppose... Although I was planning on sticking with the time honored strategy of not rocking the boat by giving closet anti-gun managers/owners the bright idea of properly posting their place of business.

I guess where to go depends more on how many people are willing to come out on a Tuesday night to celebrate restaurant carry.

  9. I guess it really depends on what kind of food people want... I can do just about anywhere after 6:30p as well on a Tuesday. I personally like the food at Knights, but I also like the fact that they have 40 different beers on tap.

Gondolier has good food down by the Jonesborough Wal-Mart. I suppose there's always the big chain places on the strip, but I usually avoid them because I hate crowds.

    Anyone else got an idea?

  10. Jack's City Grill is pretty good too (great avocado dip), I think it's owned by the same folks as Cooties, but don't hold me to that.

Crowder's is *ok* if you have cash in hand and don't require after-purchase customer service.

They do have an employee that's easy on the eyes if nothing else.

Yes, that cute little blonde who thinks she can shoot skeet. :D

  11. Gun Depot's worth a visit, Tom & Brian have a nice shop up near Elizabethton. Crowder's might be worth some window shopping time... Assuming Tim's not being a dueche 1st class again during his annual summer going out of business sale... Byrd's down in Jonesborough sometimes has some nice stuff to look at.

Mahoney's charges too much for firearms and accessories, plus they've got a non-TCA compliant no-carry sign out front, so I rarely bother to go in there unless I just absolutely have to get something from the fly fishing department for my old man. But they do have a fairly large firearms department to look over.

  12. They did a great job as usual...sorry only pic I have of it atm.

I'm hurt... I come hang out over the weekend and you don't think to call two fine looking ladies who appreciate quality firearms? For shame!
