  1. Anyone got one of those hard plastic pistol cases they don't want and wouldn't mind parting with?

I'll offer a 10 piece nugget and your choice of sauces as payment.  (This is a joke btw, unless you actually want the nuggets).

I was thinking that with the Aluminum upper and lower it would be lighter. It's strange for sure

I know right? That's the first thing that thru me off.

Surely it can’t be that heavy. Drag this thing around for a while.

Never liked the m1 garand or the m14. So I wouldn't be able to compare

It looks like that's a DPMS pattern LR308, not an AR10. They are good guns, and capable of being much more accurate than the PTR, FAL, or even SCAR-type piston guns if you get something other than a Bear Creek barrel. Even the heavy-for-class BCA is still lighter than the rifles you mentioned, though - you may be having optimistic memory. 😉 The BCA might be 8 or 9 lbs... those old battle rifles are all 10lbs dry.

If you want something more tactical/battle rifle handy, try Ruger's new SFAR. All the punch of a 308 using essentially AR15-sized hardware and furniture. It is amazing - the weight feels like an AR in the hand.

    Ruger® SFAR™ Autoloading Rifle Model 5610

I just picked one up and kitted it out; I like it so much, I want to get another one. I will wait until they come out with a 6.5 Creedmoor version before dropping the coin into a second one. They do not take typical DPMS pattern LR308 barrels due to the hybrid sizing.

I just wanted something inexpensive to get into longer range shooting. It's going to suit my purposes well. I just need to get the optics and range situation now. Also, no need to get too technical. Still a semi auto 308. BCA also has some really good stuff.

That's good to hear. I just picked up a cheap AR10 from PSA. Haven't shot it yet. I have always been a FAL guy but wanted something more modern. But dang is it heavy lol

That's what was really shocking about it. My old PTR and FAL were not this heavy.

  5. So, I had this surplus German 7.62 ammo for years now, leftovers from when I had a FAL and a PTR. But after debating about another ptr or going the AR 10 route, I can firmly say I regret going the ar10 route. Man, this thing weights a ton. Shoots well though. Now I just need to find a good optic for it.

BCA BC 10. 18in barrel. I replaced the trigger, grip and stock day one (why? Because I wanted to). I will probably replace the stock again.

that's true. But some people (I know two or three) don't want to be on any list. They just want to fly under the radar and not be bothered. I already am on the ATF NFA list thanks to our friends at Dead Air and I will be SBRing my two braced pistols. But I also know some people will be scalping others at the last minute. My goal is to help people who don't want to be on a list get a square deal. I may not be able to pay 100% of what something is worth but I will try to do as best I can to help those guys and girls out to get most if not all of its actual value.

We have social security numbers. Everyone is on a list day one.

Maybe🙂 And I'm always willing to discuss trading tools for firearms or accessories.

This is a slippery slope for me. I don't need more of either, but......

  8. get both if you can. I would start our with a rock island or anything armscore .45 to start out with. They also make great 9mm's too. Then if you like the platform, you can move up to the higher end ones. I love my dan wesson as much as my kimber

  9. 10.5 PSA pistol in 5.56. this is a full on PSA premium build including the lower. I have fired three mags out of it to sight in the optics (both the irons and the red dot, the third mag was just for fun). Optics are not included. Asking $650

Will take a partial trade on a stripped lower or will trade for an ak in 5.45 or a CZ Drake in 12g.  Or a 1911.

Now that the official new regulatory law is days away defining what makes a “pistol” a short-barreled rifle, what will the new definition of a pistol be?  And when will that be changed if it’s not being changed already as part of this?

The AR and AK platforms were never designed as pistols.

Yeah. It was a fun run, I'm just going to get rid of it instead.
