I wasn’t aware of transmission issues, and have yet to see a Ranger (Mazda) with a bad transmission. One of my kids had one that required a quart of oil at every gas fill up (it was worn smack out), yet the transmission still worked like new. All vehicles have weak points. I guess I’ve just been really lucky.

Yea, this was before internet so had to read about it in magazines, and word of mouth, but now it's been written about a bunch.  Can't recall the year of mine, but it was mid 90s, and fit these issues perfectly.

We had em for years as fleet trucks at work. I personally drove several from new to trade in (250k). I wouldn’t have hesitated to buy any of them for a daily driver at that point. They required very little work above standard maintenance. Perhaps you just go a lemon, which does occasionally happen with any make/model.

It's possible, but exactly what they warned me about happened, so it couldn't have been a coincidence.  Then again, maybe they worked out the bugs.

Those Rangers were some great little trucks as well. I can’t believe there isn’t currently a market for a basic, small pickup.

Not in my experience, when I returned from Japan I asked around and was warned off the Ranger, so ended up with a B2300 🤣  (same truck) Transmission gave out, replaced it and not long after it started showing signs so traded it in for a GMC.

Ratings don't always equal money.  Like I said, if you can't sell the advertising to high payers, then you're not generating money.

The article didn't talk about how much that 25% pay cut came out to, did it?  For someone has experienced as Tom Selleck, and Donnie Wahlberg, I can see being up there on a per episode basis, even after a 25% cut.

And if I'm CBS, I'm not selling the show either.  The residuals from having Blue Bloods in syndication and/or on streaming platforms is a way for them to keep revenue coming in without having to actually pay to produce more.  14 years is a crazy large catalog of episodes people will probably be willing to watch for a long time to come.  At this point, CBS may have just wanted to make money on their 14 years of investment without putting any more into it due to diminishing returns.

How does ratings not equal money?  Ratings are what gets advertisers to buy time to advertise their product.  Ratings equals people watching their commercials.  Now, the demographics of those ratings will surely play into it, but unless you are trying to sell Bud Light to a Blue Blood crowd, you will get as much return on your investment there than an equally rated show.

IDK, Parking a car down the block heard three shots. I'd say that was score one for dropping suppressors from controlled if he did indeed have one. Walsh was speaking out of his third point of contact speculating the guy built his own pistol. Shooting happened in NYC where gun control is working so well. We will see how it shakes out. But we know the gun grabbers will never let a tragedy go without starting their trifling crap. I just don't see it gaining traction in this case anywhere but NYC.

Those facts don't matter, they will just say he had a silencer and committed a murder with it.  Having the most gun related murders in blue cities, mostly with pistols, hasn't stopped them from going after ARs.

Anyone using one of these? How do you like it. Good tool or junk?

It works, I used Wheeler's level-level-level for a long time, but this type is a bit better since it works with aluminum or steel receivers and clamps to the barrel, I bought a no-name version for $16, though it only came with one smaller level, The vials were loose, but a little RTV and it was fine.

  7. I think it was the same POS that broke into my travel trailer a bit ago, now, they stole the entire trailer. Sometime before 11:30PM last night they chained it to a vehicle and dragged it to the fence line which they had cut to get in. Around 1130-1145PM, my neighbors' son noticed the trailer parked next to the road on his way to work, no vehicle. I suspect that it got stuck in the ditch, or they were interrupted. By 4:30 -5:00 it was gone. They left a trail where they dragged something, probably the tongue jack, which is electric, but they did not raise it. They must have got stuck a couple of times because it appears they popped the hatch and got some of the tools out. They left a few in the leaves along the way, I guess they didn't see them, they also ripped one of the stabilizing jacks in the ditch. They went North on Old Hwy 13, and possibly made a left on HWY 149 towards Cumberland City into Houston County, according to a Sheriff's Deputy that it is an area with high crime. If anyone happens to come across it while on a hunt or elsewhere, let me know, or call Montgomery County Sheriffs office.

I've noticed this as well.  Wish that app was still available.  Sounds really useful.

I think others are available, mine is called Galaxy Charging Current and is no longer available on GooglePlay, It stopped working some on newer phones, the Max mA is blank, but it still shows the Reference and Average mA.  But with it not showing one value, it is hard to believe the rest.

  9. One thing I found is that some USB cords just don't charge the same as others.  I used to have an app that would tell me what power was incoming and marked my good cords.  Apple used to flip some wires inside the cord so only original apple cords would work on apple phones.  My phone charges pretty quick, from around 30%, way quicker than an hour, so if yours is taking long, may want to test other cords.

Ordered one and it came today.  It was mostly charged but i plugged it in to top it off.reading the directions for solar charging, it says it takes 56 hours to fully solar charge! Yikes!  LOL.  10000 milliamps is the same as I gave in. Much smaller MagSafe charger for my iPhone.  But for emergencies, it might be ok.

When I use mine, I place it on a sill in the sun while charging and after charging to see if it will top off or at least get some charge back.  I normally need to top off my phone once and my tablet once, I connect when I am at 25-30% so they won't go into power saving mode.  I've never needed to recharge it with just the panel, just good to know I can if I need to.

I have a similar unit that I take hunting, it usually allows me to get through the day with both my phone and tablet.  I also have a battery bank as a backup, but never had to use it.

  12. If it is a plain stock, it will take rattle can spray just fine.  Just know that it won't last too long, but it can be done very effectively.  No, it is not cerakote, though that will work much better, but guys have been doing this for decades.  We did many of our M-4s back in the day to break up the silhouette, and would look pretty decent if you took your time.  Just google or DDG some pics, most are camo and look great, so plain ole black should come out great too.  The good part is that you can change it out if it just doesn't do it for you.  You can also opt for a better paint, like ceracoat or duracoat, but still DIY.

    This stock is actually black.
