  1. I think I'll have a good start on a bag now. Now I just have to keep it light. What about an Emberlit or similar stove? And food: MRE vs freeze dried? Is there any reason besides the expiration date that I shouldn't go with MREs?
  2. So I ordered an Aimpoint Comp C3. It finally came in and I was rather excited for it since I had been waiting about a year to purchase one. So I open the package and come out to find that 1) the mount it shipped with is too low and 2) the optic doesn't work. I decided to return the Comp C3 and get my money back. I will now be waiting for the refund and I will be purchasing an Aimpoint PRO. I may have had a moment of being mesmerized by a shiny object but I swore that the amount would have cleared the A2 front sight. I guess it doesn't matter now though for the C3 will be in the mail tomorrow being returned. I did debate cutting the front sight off but then I realized I would have had to put more money into a 467 dollar purchase and I also did not want to buy another mount. I guess I know why this model was discontinued.
  3. Has anyone else signed up for a class here? I'll be taking Pistol I on June 6-7. From everything I've seen of Reid on YouTube, he seems to be a good guy. I've always wanted to take a class from him. I know I'm looking forward to the class.
  4. I am finally going to get around to building one of these. When I say building I really mean piecing one together as I find time and money. What exactly do I need in here? I know the first thing that I need is a good bag. I have one already but I need some input on what should go in it.

I am thinking that I need a way to filter water, water containers, food, ways to make fire, changes of clothes, socks, a pair of boots, bedroll, sleeping bag, ammo, and magazines. This is all that is coming to mind right now. Pictures of your bag and what is in it would be greatly appreciated.

  5. The only guns that a dealer may sell to someone under 21 is long guns. A silencer, and any other NFA item, is not considered to be a long gun so dealers cannot sell those to anyone under 21 either. But, just like pistols, NFA items may be sold by an individual as long as the buyer is 18 or older. But because a dealer cannot transfer the NFA item to anyone under 21 the sale of the NFA item must be to someone within the same state.

So I can fill out a Form 1.
  6. Typically, as residents of TN, the federal laws are going to be the aggravating factor. I can't say for sure but if federal law allows it I would think that TN would as well.

Based on my understanding I can build or buy an NFA item from an individual before turning 21. But I'll continue to look into it. I haven't found any state law that says I can't.
  7. The 24 is a blast to shoot. The long sight radius makes it a great performer in competition. And although I don't use it in comp shooting, because I don't shoot in comp shooting; it's still a great pistol as a range toy.

I did get the 357 Sig barrel for mine, thinking I would like it more than the 40. I was wrong.

The 24 tames the 40 and makes it a little pussycat.

Of course, if you like flamethrowers...the 357 is the way to go.

How much does it change the recoil impulse of the 40 S&W? I can't imagine any 40 being pleasant to shoot.
