My dad came over today and we made a lot of progress but I have questions.

The path for the hard pipe was blocked by my HVAC trunk. The only option was to lift it up and run my dryer vent under it. The problem is that when letting it back down it was too heavy and wanted to crush my new duct.

Our solution was to rest the weight of the HVAC trunk on a few bricks. You can see my new duct on the left of the first picture. Does anyone think this will be an issue for the HVAC trunk?

From there I have an 8' piece of semi rigid flex tube I'm going to run through the hole in the floor directly to my dryer. I need to make the floor hole bigger. Should I rent a jig saw?

I had to open up my ceiling to get to the water pressure regulator and knowing a patch would look like a patch I put an A/C return grate up to hide the hole. I used cardboard and duct tape to seal the louvers.  Now, if I need to get up there just take down the grate.

  2. I think my chin hit the desk when I read this earlier. My hope, as with all of his friends and family, was that he was on the road to recovery. Reading all of these comments and watching his videos I understand why he was so well liked. His talent and down  to earth personality make him the type of person that will be missed and remembered for a long long time.
My sincerest condolences to all of his friends and family.

Who is this majority of people that think that? I’ve personally never heard a single person say that knives aren’t dangerous. Having attended multiple patients over the years with knife wounds, none of whom were cut by a “trained man” I’d say your methodology is flawed. The simple fact that our bodies really need to keep the red stuff inside, and most interactions with a knife involve it leaking out, sometimes rapidly, indicates that knives are dangerous.

I think Pop Pop was referring to those who say "Why did they have to shoot him, he only had a knife". And I agree a successful knife attack can have horrible wounds and be perpetrated by anyone. I've seen quite a few myself when I was working.

  4. Holder and Jones in Cleveland. They did 30ish leyland cypress trees for me last fall. cut, remove, stumps ground and cleaned up in 2 days.
Their price was a little more then the cheapest, but a lot less than the most ($9500) expensive.

  5. I'm happy this topic came back up. Last year if I walked passed the woods I'd have chiggers and a tick or two on me.  This year all is well, even though we have spent the last three days down IN the woods. We've been clearing underbrush and cutting some paths.
The difference, I hope, is she made a mixture of lemongrass oil, eucalyptus oil and apple cider vinegar and sprays me from head to foot.  No chemicals and no ticks or chiggers. Although I smell like salad.
