  1. The really crappy thing is that all FFL holders have to abide by federal law, but If I'm out of state I can't buy a handgun without having to ship it back to an FFL in my home state. If I can pass background checks in one state I should be allowed to purchase and take possession in any state that allows handgun possession.

  2. Have had ADT monitored system for years in FL and 4 years here and their service has been great. We changed this system around a little and the servicemen were here when they said they would be and the work they did was neat and clean. Have had no false alarms except when I forget the system is armed and they usually call before I get to the phone.

  3. Saw this ad in GOC this morning. Someone in the Nashville area needs to check it out as the asking price is half of the prices on Gunbroker. He's asking $800.....

The ad is towards the bottom of page 2

  4. The Cleveland Hunting Rifle and Pistol Club will host an IDPA Tennessee - Alabama - Georgia (TAG) Regional match on September 17th at the CHRPC range in Cleveland, TN. For more information IDPA, 3GUN, Information, Reviews and Training - Team rangeissafe.com

Shortcut to an application and waiver http://www.chrpc.com/CHRPC_Regional_App.PDF

There will be 12 IDPA scenario stages with 12 to 18 rounds per stage. The match is limited to 100 shooters. This is not a "sanctioned" match, meaning you will not earn match points toward the National or World matches. But everything else is the same, awards will be awarded per IDPA regulations, prize table with prizes awarded by random drawing. You must be an IDPA member with a current classification to shoot and all IDPA rules and regulations will apply.

    Still some openings.

  5. Went to the safe yesterday to do some cleaning and oiling of some things that have been sitting for a while, one being a Colt 1911. That barrel bushing would not turn (sitting too long I guess). I pulled the slide with everything together and put the slide in a vise (aluminum jaws) Even used a wrench on it, nada.

Then I remembered an old trick...... Put it in the freezer for a couple of hours and even though i still need a wrench, it turned pretty easy. I used a flat jawed monkey wrench.

I then took some 2000 grit, oiled up wet/dry paper to the bushing and slide in case of any burrs. none found.

Lesson learned....... Make sure everything is real clean and oiled before putting it away.

  6. Sure, some things do happen, like fights, but the Police presence stops those pretty quick. I think since the FedEx Forum was built, there has been a concerted effort to stop the shenanigans.

I actually like to get Corky's ribs, half dry, half wet, they really aren't that bad. Their pork sandwiches are nothing special. The BBQ shop is very good. If'n you never had BBQ Bologna, get the appetizer. Interstate BBQ on S Third is good, take a gun and don't leave it in the car, ask SWAT!

Have had fried bologna with eggs, the BBQ bologna sounds good. We don't like crowds, drunks or driving at night, so we'll be out of town long before dark. My EDC is like an AMEX card........never leave home without it.

  7. Read that the Commissary is real good, maybe we'll try it. Wanted to trythe cornish hen at Cozy Corner We wanted to be able to walk around see the Peabody, go to the fire museum, walk down Beale, etc.

We'll be on our way to TX for a week the middle of Sept., hope it cools down by then:)

  8. We'll be passing thru Memphis and want some BBQ. Gonna stay at Tom Sawyer RV Park across the river.?? If you could only have one more meal of Memphis BBQ where would it be? And is the Beale St area safe to walk around?

Started the google searching, so far Cozy Corner, Paynes and A&R.

  9. Bought a ZM4 upper with canted sights. I sent it back, they sent me another one back with canted front sight. Sold it. Will never buy from them again. On top of this the person I talked to was not surprised and even said she was telling people to send them back and they will fix it. My thought was goodness how many have been sent out to other people that are like mine.

    You sold it ???
