  1. SKS hands down.

Rugged, dependable, plus they gave us hell in the early years of Vietnam.

7.62x39 is still pretty reasonable in price.

SKS is a proven combat effective weapon.

9mm carbine is a great range toy and home defense weapon, but can't match the SKS long term SHTF.  IMHO.

  2. I had a shop bust the fiberglass fairing on a Trans Am while putting it on a lift  several years ago. My insurance paid to have it repaired then sued the shop for their money back. The insurance company collected from them and returned my deductable to me.

It's always easier to use your own insurance, and have them file back against the other party. Sure it may tie up your deductible for a few months but its worth it not dealing with the heart burn.

  3. That's a hard call, but I just don't think you would be pleased with the handi rifle in the long run. Its a cheap gun with cheap plastic and not such a pretty finish.

The CZ would run you about $700 + $200 to cut and thread the barrel?

But its going to be a nice looking gun with nice wood and should shoot well.

I am going to throw you a curve ball and suggest the 700 Rem in 300.

  4. Yeah, if the Dealer wants to ... wants to take the risk ... it is up to him.

He is under zero obligation whatsoever, especially since he does not know me from a hole in the ground ... I just moved here three months ago.

Therefore, I completely understand his hesitation.

So at his shop my pistols do sit & gather dust ...

Your denial is most likely due to the fact you just moved here 3 months ago.  I have seen 2 such denials where people have just moved to TN. It can take up to 30 days to get the official "proceed."

Call the number Dolomite provided, be nice, and I bet you see some progress.

  5. Sounds like the buyer is happy with his purchase, and the seller made a respectable offer to resolve any potential issues. All is in harmony here at TGO....

Now let's see some picks and range review.
