  1. Unfortunately, reports like Dave's of S&W customer service and quality are becoming more common. I would pass on the Smith.

I have a VP9 with over 15,000 rounds without a single malfunction or stoppage. Trigger is great out of the box, but upgrades can be had.

And with any HK, accuracy is excellent.

You mentioned the VP9...well hold your horses becauses the long slide is soon to be released. That's what I would recommend.

Anybody come up with an example of how to load your mags for the new classifier?

Seems to be mostly a down load to six...., just wondering if there are any mag load tricks like we use to do for the old classifier to speed up the strings.

Mark, there is not much room for gaming the new classifier. Like you said, the first mag on the strings that require a reload have to be loaded to six for the slide lock reload.

The only advice I would offer is just make sure your second mag for the reload has a few more than six in case of a malfunction.

  3. Also, X-grip in the near future will be making spacers so you can use the VP9/P30 15 round mag or the USPc/P2000 13 round mag in the P30SK. http://x-grips.com/hk/

The ones for the P2000SK will work, but there seems to be some fitment issues. I'm waiting for the ones for the P30SK.

Well went to Gander Mountain tonight just to poke around and see what they had..... initially went to check out a Walther PPS M2 or a Sig P320sc....

No PPS in stock.... did check out the Sig.... very nice... it was then I saw it.... an HK P30sk. .... just sitting there.... calling to me..... Turns out is was a V1 LEM....

Well, it had to come home with me.... so now I'm playing with the various grip combinations....

Really can't wait to get to a range and try this baby out.....

    You made the right choice.

You can also get mags for it with a finger rest. http://www.topgunsupply.com/h-k-p30sk-9mm-10rd-extended-magazine.html

  5. I'm really liking my P30sk. I got a killer deal on it from CDNN. They had the LEM model for $499.

I shoot it almost as well as a full size pistol. I was skeptical at first, as this was my first sub compact pistol, but I'm loving it.

It has been 100% reliable, as you would expect with an HK.

Get the P30sk V1 LEM, you won't be disappointed.

  6. We just lost two states in a matter of weeks....great, just great. As others have said, I'm sure many others states will follow.

What other states allow under 21 to get permits to carry? I guess that is the only states we will have reciprocity with when it is all said and done.

Time to write your representatives folks, they are in session now.

    Maybe we can fix this.

  7. The VP9/40 is the best polymer striker on the market.

Hard to conceal? Really? I can conceal carry an HK45 without issue, the VP9 is a piece of cake.

  8. Plus I drank way too much free beer in the hot MS sun provided by an IDPA paid employee after the match. I said a few cuss words during after the match.

That is my favorite one right there.

I feel your pain, same thing happened to me at The Cheetah in Atlanta.

Except substitute “hot MS sun” with “in the VIP” and “IDPA employee” with “Cheetah Girl” and you catch my drift. However my cussing didn’t happen until the credit card bill came in the mail

  9. Says this shmuck in his op-ed:  http://www.knoxnews.com/opinion/columnists/jc-abbott-americans-should-stand-up-to-the-nra_57890003

Really?  For this first 2 years of the Obama administration, the Democrats controlled everything.  Republicans couldn't stop anything.  They had the perfect opportunity to restrict gun ownership but they didn't... not enough "anti-gun" Dems.  And why does this need to be done on the federal level?  If commie states like NY, MA, NJ, CA, etc want those restrictions then they have that right just as Vermont has a right not to require a carry permit for its residents.

    What?! No, they don’t.

The laws in the states you mentioned, except Vermont, are in direct violation of the Second Amendment.

  10. MC Cup was cancelled by Rick and John(IDPA club contacts) recommendations early this month. Official letter to HQ was sent on August 6th. Sorry for any inconveniences this may cause. We tried to give plenty of time for those that registered to make other plans.

Based on the letter sent out by Green River, they have a 1st year MD and did not want to overwhelm him with a sanctioned event also.

SteamPlant Shootout at Gallatin Gun Club was supposed to be the 2nd weekend in August but Robert's work schedule prohibited it from happening this year.

Okay, thank you for the information.

Looks like I’m headed to Arizona.

  11. But hasn't it been long withstanding that SOC gets to use whatever they want as far as a sidearm?

You could say that for the Tier 1 units, but that is about it.

So they spend money on the Colt 1911 rail gun, to now go with the Glock, brilliant.

Two bad choices-they should have adopted the HK45c like NSWC did in the first place.
