  1. Yep...I cried all the way up there, the 9mm was a good pistol. I've been "consolidating" calibers...all 3 of us (wife, son, me) now have 45's for pistols and 308's for rifles. At least those are the ones that we shoot most often...makes buying reloading components a lot easier (cheaper). Will do on the range report...its supposed to rain tomorrow so it may take a few days
  2. He traded with me...now I gotta go get my (my sons) brand new Bersa Thunder 45.
  3. If it were me...I'd want at least $250-$350 to boot...depending on which 835 he offered. Check the prices of the 835's online...then decide how much the 1911 is worth to you. (used SS Loaded is worth about $600 if its in good shape)
  4. Welcome from another new guy... Those 1911's are hard to beat...
  5. BTW...You're welcome.
  6. My friend is wanting to trade with me...he has a brand new never fired Bersa Thunder 45 with 2 spare mags. He needs a little $$$ to fix his truck, I think I'll offer him the 9mm and $100. I'm just not really a 9mm guy...that's why I stopped carrying the Bersa. Technically I have given the 9mm to my son...but he's been saying he wants a 45 anyway.
  7. 45 acp loaded with 230 grain Hornady Flat Point FMJ bullets...pushed at or near +P velocities (900-950 fps). That load will hit hard and penetrate deep...no matter how many legs the threat has.
  8. That's Henry my 8 year old Tennessee racking mule...he's a pretty good mule (most of the time ...he's a lot like a "one mans dog" though)
  9. Boomhower, Can I steal your sig line? I like it...and its true. I figure I'll bump into more than a few people that know me on here...so I thought I'd make it easy to figure out who I am.
  10. I've changed the recoil springs twice.
  11. Those Bersa's are some darn good pistols...I have had a Thunder 9 Ultra Compact for e few years now. Many thousands of rounds of +P and +P+ ammo have been fired through it and its still running great.
  12. Hello from Surgoinsville.
  13. Hi all, I just found this forum last night...sorry I'm late. I am an active shooter of both pistols and rifles, I'm also active on a few forums (moderator on 1911auto.org, member on 1911forum, member on THR, and a couple of others) I carry my pistol religiously both at home and everywhere else. I'm also a "hobbyist" long range shooter...been at it a long time, just never competed. My guns.... My daily carry...a Baer stainless Stinger (in its natural state...used hard, but never abused)...its 2 years old with over 12,000 wonderful rounds through it, and 7 deer in the freezer with it. My carry rig (the buck knife cases are mag carriers)...a Versa Max II, the belt is a Milt Sparks also. My wife's XD 45 Compact One of my 308's (I have 3)...my SPS Tactical, I love this little rifle. And my reloading room... Me and my wife... Nice to meet you guys.
