  1. Good job with the cosmoline. That martha frackin stuff is the devil. Nice looking setup. If i can find you a box of rounds, Ill pick em up
  2. I'll agree with deerslayer. I moved from a G19 to a P365xl to the G48 MOS. I picked up a few of the Gen2 Shield Mags (and the mag release). I only put about 100 rounds through the G48 but I had no issues with the mags at all.
  3. I've definitely had those moments. I like to blame them on the concussions
  4. Myself and one of my old NCO's both have civilian, no manual safety models of the M17. I am unaware of any real difference, other than coatings on the internals MAYBE, and while I've carried mine some with a loaded chamber and no issues, he has carried his for about 2 years now and it has not had any issues. The two incidents I know of have seemed to have involved holsters and depending on the holster, I would say it could definitely be the issue. The drop-safe issue, which has been corrected on newer models or through recall, was that it had to be hit with a very specific amount of force at a very specific angle on the back of the slide. That's just what I know. I also know that when it comes to military and to a lesser extent LE, they don't always get the best stuff. SERPA's are not a good holster and I've replaced holsters for LE friends. We were issued SERPA's on my 2nd and 3rd deployments but they are less of an issue with firearms with manual safeties.
  5. It may be ugly but at least it's still a FAL
  6. I had the "full rail" TRP at one time. Semi-regret getting rid of it, but it was one of the nicer 1911's I had owned.
  7. I don't have a Glock 20 anymore, but I loved the pistol and the round. I think it is definitely the best option out there. I know that there is a lot of love in 10mm in the 1911 world but for some reason I feel like research lead me to the fact that the 1911 wouldn't handle the really hot loads of 10mm. I could be misremembering. Either way, definitely look at what ammo you are buying because a lot of the factory stuff on most shelves is loaded to about .40s&w levels.
  8. So, I recently picked up one of Sig's new Cross rifles, shortly before the recall which mine has gone to them and come back already. I'm fairly new to the long range game (anything past 500m), but was wondering how everyone built up knowledge. Was it all from learning from others or was there source material out there that you guys used? I'm sure I'm over-simplifying but I'm just ready to learn. Thanks!
