  1. Yes...I was...i was about to freak out and pull every one of 'em...
  2. Oh....I am trying to get her interested in shooting....she has shot a little...but not much... One good thing....she's not "afraid" to shoot...
  3. I didnt really have time to set up a target....we shot at a 2'x2' stump and each round hit the stump....probably 15-20 yds out...definitely all were center of mass...
  4. Well....I am indeed proud of myself....stopped by mark@sea's today and let him fire off some of my reloads.... They all went bang....they all cycled....and no high pressure signs...SWEET!
  5. and...........what have you been smokin????????
  6. I say hell yeah....wifey said...."hey!...that wasn't very nice!"....
  7. Yup!...and she loves it...but...she wants a laser on it....and hers is about that old also...it came from mark@sea through the guys @ Tri-cities gun depot. If I remember correctly....the depot guy's father carried it for years also.
  8. Guys, this may not touch any of you, but...my stepdaughter(mine since she was 5) just turned 19 a few days ago...she came to me tonight and asked me to help her restring her fishing poles.... It was around 11:00 and I was ready for bed....but....I decided to help her.... We just finished and she is now in bed... I found one of my old tackle boxes and gave it to her, stocked ....showed her how to re-line her poles....showed her how to tie on her hooks....gave her extra line and a few lures.... We finished and came back upstairs...she was texting and all the crap that college kids do....she went to bed....then came back in here and said...."thank you for helping me".....it shocked the hell out of me...and now, that I have had time to think about it....I'm as proud of her as if she was my own!!!! She just finished her Freshman year @ UT and did great! And with all the she has going on....wanted ME to help her.... I know this is kind of silly, but, I guess it's the small things in life that make a difference....
  9. yes....Florida sucks....
  10. I told her it was impossible...but...here are her requests... NO recoil...or very little.. Light... Compact.... Laser compatable.... Semi-auto.... and preferably 1911.... She has a Llama .32 in the 1911 style and loves it...but...she wants something more "modern" and wants a laser... She likes the minimal recoil from the .32...she has shot my .45 and doesn't like the recoil nor the weight...understandable.... Any suggestions?
  11. I actually looked at and felt one of these today....I loved the feel of it...but...Im not sure about the DAO...I like a hammer that I can see....but....it IS something that I am considering...
  12. I haven't ....only because of the price of Kimbers. Are the compacts more affordable?
  13. What do you guys think about or know about the Para Covert Slim hawg? Nevermind....I just looked up the suggested retail....
  14. Ok guys...the boys @ the Gun Depot have gotten me thinking.... I want a compact .45 to carry ....I would prefer a 1911...but...i want something small and "easy" to conceal.... I love the Para that Brian let me "feel"... And I am also considering the Taurus Millennium in .45.... Give me some ideas....and I don't want to promise my first born for one either....
  15. Absolutely none....well....except for shotgun shells...
  16. did the wal-mart strut today and it felt damn good...
  17. I'll try......no promises though....
  18. Merrill and Steward......thanks guys.....all this info is VERY much appreciated. I think I'll incorporate both of you guys' suggestions..... I am gonna leave the 100 I have already loaded and wait to see if I ever work up to that charge....if I do, great. If not...I'll pull 'em. I am gonna load 10 @ 3.8.....10 @ 3.9.....and 10 @ 4.0 and see what happens... I will feel more "comfortable" shooting them doing it this way.... Thanks again guys!!!!!!
  19. not yet....and now I've had toooooo many adult beverages to even think about it.... tomorrow is another day i guess.... I am getting WAY too much contradicting information....one says you're good....one says its too hot...hell...the guy at the local gunshop today, said not to worry about it....that even if i was off .3 grains either way that it wouldn't make much of a difference....I don't know what the hell to do...
  20. All 100 rounds, I weighed on the Lee safety scale to 4.7 grains of Bullseye. The bullets were 124 grain hollow points that I bought from mark@Sea ....moly-coated something.... and my scale won't measure anything over 110 grains....but...I DID buy a small Frankford Arenal digital scale today.... GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!
  21. Not yet...but now I'm afraid to shoot the stuff...I guess i can shoot it in my hi-point...if it blows up the gun, Im only out $150 and my right hand........
  22. Oh geezzz...now I'm worried that my scale isn't "right". the .5 lee dipper leveled on my scale was reading about 4.2...i had to "dip" a little more on each round to get to the 4.7... Damn...I hope this isnt the start of a bunch of bad luck for my reloading adventure..... I was hoping that this would be fun and not STRESSFUL! How do you guys "trust" your loads with all the differing info out there???? I guess I'll be pulling a bunch of bullets now...well...100 to be exact. i don't know what to do now....buy factory ammo and sell my press?
  23. Thanks steward....all the info I can get is great! Mine ended up being 1.125....but...I havent been to the range yet....
