So I went home and started making these bad boys!
Presenting the F'Ning Bottle Opener by Battle Mug
-
Just a heads up;
A close friend confirmed that Uselton's is closing his doors on 30 June 2012.
*This is a result of his filing Chapter 11 Bankruptcy
I recommend that anyone that has guns in for service or layaway keep this in mind.
-
This is great news.
I need to make some time to stop in and do some shopping.
I wish Chad the best of luck!
-
haha i just reposted that in the lounge:

Congrats Joe! Have to admit I thought it was a neat idea without an audience...boy am I glad I was wrong....now that you have found success with this concept its time for a new one :-)
We are finalizing the CAD and starting prototyping of two new items that will outsell Battle Mug x 1000
Its going to be an interesting year......
-
A little upstart news organization featured Battle Mug today:
-
You mad pimp... I had no idea OPMOD had picked it up. Nice!
Yep. They are on their 4th order
-
Battle Mug takes on rounds from a Ruger 10/22, M&P 45C, Mosin-Nagant shooting Armor Piercing Incendiary, and the .300 BLK AR. It then withstood two tannerite blasts, a trip behind a truck, and a tumble at 35 mph. But the final nail in its coffin was a date with a 10-ton bulldozer...
Gotta love gun guys with too much time on their hands

I'm giving some thought to going. Man, I hate Vegas though.
Right now I'm kind of leaning more towards the Tulsa Gun Show in April.
Let me know what you decide about Tulsa. I would really like to hit it as well!
-
If you guys want to attend, there are ways to get in as the guest of an authorized attendee.
So yes, it is closed to the public, but there are ways around this if you really want to go.
-
Can you buy stuff at SHOT, or is it just manufacturers showing some of their existing and upcoming merchandise?
Some exhibitors will have swag type items (shirts, knives, hats, bags, etc) items for sale, but no firearms change hands.
This is the industry exhibition and buying show for dealer, distributors, etc.
I'd like to go but it was my understanding it is for LEO's or military only unless you are a vendor. Is this incorrect? You need to be in the industry.

People have way too much time on their hands....

Any TGO'ers headed to SHOT?
If so; TGO Beer Call!!!
-
And in other news, sensitive travelers boycott United Airlines flights because their planes look surprisingly similar to those flown into the Twin Towers on 9/11.
Maybe we should require all skyscrapers to be round from now on...that way there is no way they will resemble the WTC.
* but I am sure there would be some big protest from the "anti-round building movement" so that pretty much kills that idea

Regarding PMags;
The issue is not with the Magpul PMag.
The issue is a clause that allows for "brand name or equal"
Companies like Tapco are exploiting the "brand name or equal" clause in some magazine contracts to undercut the PMAG on price and sneak their product in. So the unit places an order for PMAGs, the contracting officer posts a solicitation with the "brand name or equal" clause, Tapco wins the contract, and the unit gets issued an inferior product that they did not want. ####ty situation to be in, and I can't believe the contracting officers are getting away with it.
